| oompaloompa | 07-09-2010 06:49 AM | most current acounts are fine, steer clear of HSBC, natwest, Llyods according to some forumers who have had probs with differing names, although I cant say Ive had any issues with any of them. If abbey was a good one for you get another with them perhaps. avoid ING. |
| ebayerOG | 07-09-2010 06:55 AM | what can i just walk in there and say i want a new account number and sort code or what ???
thanks for the reply |
| GreenBean | 07-09-2010 07:23 AM | You didnt say you had any problems with the bank. So yep, that's just what you do. Go to the branch, take your ID and get a current account. It's important to have them as they accept paypal. :pop2:
To be sure, phone the branch & enquire or look on their website. Good Luck :pop2: |
| ebayerOG | 07-09-2010 08:31 AM | i had no problems i got suspended about 2 or 3 years back for selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ new era hats and i havnt tryed registering since

| ebayerOG | 07-09-2010 08:32 AM | im so close to earning money again just wanna get it sorted asap as im living on pennys at the moment |
| stickmade | 07-09-2010 11:41 AM | just to make it easier for you you won't have to leave the house. Go to google, search for co-operative bank. Apply for a standard current account. They require a previous account# code sort etc. Give them this + all the other details you'll have an account in 7days. YEEEHAAAA :-) |
| ebayerOG | 07-09-2010 04:49 PM | yo what and i can 100% link it to paypal and be able to withdraw funds to it ???
thanks |
| GreenBean | 07-09-2010 07:04 PM | Yep! That's another option. Plenty of them. And the forum always has a user that can give them to help out :pop2: |

Maybe it's different for UK residents. |
| GreenBean | 07-09-2010 11:40 PM | @creznor, there's a special way of dealing with this bank, and not pertinent to this thread, so follow what aspkin recommended. |

| GreenBean | 07-10-2010 12:41 AM | @creznor Yep! Thinking out a reply :thumb: |

| KulldeeSak | 07-13-2010 08:22 PM | Hi Ebayerukg,
I have 2 accounts with Abbey (Santander). It was really easy just walked in and asked to open another account. Told them almost the whole truth about reason for second account "that it makes it easier for me to keep my paypal accounts seperate if I ever need to declare to tax man at some point in the future" yer right!
They snapped my hand off as they obviously get browny points/bonus for new business.
The big plus is that you get your new account number and account opened same day. Dont have to wait a week with a new bank.
Regards

| ebayerOG | 07-14-2010 08:35 AM | hi mate thanks for the reply,im waiting on a co op card to come through but its getting long so i might just go down abbey tomorrow but the problem is what do as ive signed up with ebay and paypal using my middle name as my last what do i do about the new abbey account do i just adjust it when i register the new card to paypal..please get back to me asap so i can get selling,im back on ebay listing but i cant receive funds :( |
| KulldeeSak | 07-22-2010 09:48 PM | Sorry took so long, just noticed your last message. You've probably got yourself sorted by now but this might help someone else.
Real details given to your bank. If you went for a second account with Abbey (Santander),they would obviously open account in same details anyway with you already having an account with them.
Doesnt matter what name you put in Paypal as they cant check with most banks anyway.
I have been successful with Cahoot/Abbey/Nationwide/Halifax
With the help from this forum and Stealth Book  |
| pending | 08-19-2010 07:07 PM | but isn't it better to get a bank account in someone else's name? any advice on this? |
| GreenBean | 08-19-2010 07:46 PM | Friends and business never mix. Your own real info should be used for making bank accounts. Some may have credit problems but there are enough banks in the UK that will help even them to get an account.
Sounds dodgy to ask that :spy: |
| pending | 08-22-2010 10:44 AM | no it's not a dodgy thing having a bank account in someone else's name :-) it's just to be super safe, you know, no links...? anyway it seems to be impossible without getting ⊗⊗⊗⊗ data and going into a high branch with a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ driving license or something. don't fancy trying that one :-( | | All times are GMT -5.
