Can I use an 0844 number with eBay and Paypal?

Hi,

I just got an 0844 number, can this number be used with eBay and Paypal?.

Or will they just limit the account?

oompaloompa 07-18-2010 04:23 PM

you can use it as a contact number , like a mobile, just dont try and verify anything with it.

SO who can we use , any voip that provides local incomming numbers or is it a propper landline here now, i know skype still works but sod that .

oompaloompa 07-20-2010 11:49 AM

voip is fine as long as it is landline format, and for paypal verifications must clsely match address

Stigger 07-20-2010 06:39 PM

Hello

What must , the voip account address must be the same as pp ?

oompaloompa 07-21-2010 04:22 AM

yes the number must be very close to a what real number would be in that addresses area.

thought thats what you were saying. so is the next town o.k

i usually use all the same town city but i did have an account not long ago that was limited and the only thing that was out out of the ordinary was the number was from a different city

The area code / region code is vital.

Stigger 07-21-2010 09:00 AM

You can virtual ones here with the actual area codes , so if you live in say leeds you will get a number with the area code 0113, with soho each number cost £2.00 and you dont even need to top up to get incomming calls .

ryanba 07-21-2010 09:24 AM

Yes with Soho66 you need to top-up to have calls forwarded to your landline or mobile, with at least £5.

Net Telco lets you have 3 landline numbers (any code) as long as you have £10 credit in your account and there is no monthly charge so seems like a better bet imo. I havent cycled my 3 numbers yet so dont know if you can cancel one and grab another if an account goes down.

If you need more than 3 they cost £8.50 each, again there is no monthly fee, so I suppose it depends how long you expect the account to last?
