| forummember | 07-19-2010 07:45 AM | Is 14kg in one parcel okay with EMS Just wondering whether it's on the heavy side or is okay?
Will there be any problems with it. |
That's way too big - more than 20 pounds is asking for custom inspection. What's the order? |
forummember | 07-19-2010 11:56 AM | My supplier assures me that it's fine and everything. I've had 7-10kg get through no problem before (I am in the U.K.). The contents are clothing.
Thanks for your reply. |
Ah ok - I still like to see less than 10 lbs per shipment but if you have experience, excellent. |
forummember | 07-19-2010 12:04 PM | Yes next time I intend to stay below 7kg. What would you suggest the maximum weight to be for DHL? I've had 42kg before, but that had problems. |
MadSam | 07-19-2010 12:56 PM | 25kg is the heaviest I've had from EMS through UK customs. Never had a problem. I think UK customs is pretty lax, has anybody else found this? |
forummember | 07-19-2010 01:05 PM | Wow, 25kg! What weight do you usually get through?
I think the customs in UK does a blitz one day of the year for the media, it's always on 8th June (world anti-counterfeiting day). |
teedon | 07-20-2010 04:25 AM | 20kgs is no problem for pass uk custom, we have many shippment passed uk custom.Vero products |
forummember | 07-20-2010 09:54 AM | Thanks for that Teedon. At least now I know I can get much more in, what is the average weight you send out?
Thanks, |
teedon | 07-22-2010 04:24 AM | it depend on the model ,some models are big weight, and then we just shipping 18 or 21 kgs for each package, including the weight of packing material .Just like the wire dvds boxset we shipping to uk,it is about 1kg each set,so we just shipping 15 pcs each package, and the total weight is 17kgs,including 2 kgs packing material .And no problem for pass uk custom so far. |
Kickboxerfighter | 07-22-2010 04:40 AM | Thats OK.. when it over 25kg than worry! |
teedon | 07-22-2010 09:09 AM | 25kgs ,you will not easy to sleep well during the shipping peroid |
SaiJin | 07-22-2010 01:09 PM | that seems an ok weight.
The other factor you need to worry about it making sure that the seller knows what he is doing and has info about the most current methods that gives you the highest chance to to receive your order. |
cmman | 07-24-2010 07:38 AM | hi mate,
my experiance to the uk is EMS anything under 20kgs is fine. I recently sent 19kgs of clothes and it didnt get taxed. dont bother with any courier services, they always **** you. and always gets taxed. make sure you under value it as over 200GbP they will definatly tax you. |
teedon | 07-24-2010 10:05 AM | Yes,Do not try DHL for uk region, you will need to pay taxes |
No wonder I always get crap via EMS. |
DogFacedBoy | 07-26-2010 10:53 AM | I don't mind paying extra to buy items one at a time rather than in quantity, but is receiving 5 or more 3 or 4kg packages a week more of a red flag than a big one once a month?
Is the problem that Customs questions the value of packages that size and then inspects and as a result will seize if they are knock offs?
I guess my question would be what is riskier
getting 4 or 5 packages less than 5 kg in one week...or
getting a 20 -25 kg package once a month?
Does it help it you are expecting to pay duty and have the seller declare a value right at the cutoff point? |
MadSam | 07-26-2010 11:56 AM | Easy!
People usually say 21KG is the point where it's more likely to run into problems. |

Stigger | 07-26-2010 03:12 PM | i generally get around 18kg package once twice a week of vero items with dhl at the moment, i always get the suppliers to put under 200usd as thats the currencies i purchase in, also i get them to put the real shipping cost of the package on the customs slip as that gets deducted from the 200usd so i pay less tax if i get stung.
if i want 30 kg in a rush i just get the suppliers to split it into 2 or 3 and get them send to my bro's and mates, in fact i try to do this a much as possible you might pay a little extra shipping 20usd, its highly unlikely they will get stopped but if one does get stopped at least your others got through while you sort your seized one out
i see paying a little vat keeps them off your back as does splitting them up and getting them sent to as many address as possible in a rotation . |

How much more to ship DHL?
Is that service even still available to the US? |

Wouldn't have a scooby doo mate, i was answering for the u.k as the question "as i understand it" was asked by someone from the u.k :attention: |
DogFacedBoy | 07-26-2010 03:38 PM | Just wondering on the cost differences between carriers.
I have been primarily looking at small shipments and the differences in cost was quite a bit. Might not be as much with larger packages |
Stigger | 07-26-2010 03:54 PM | not sure to be honest, i would have just checked on the sites.
i don't usually pick the supplier unless I'm sending and thats how i find the cheapest, i usually go with the one my suppliers say at the time - Reason - they have better knowledge, they send every day to many people around the world so are constantly aware of changes and it quickly gets back to them if anything goes wrong - like dhl's packages are getting inspected, thats how i generally know something going on, my suppliers change shipping company untill the dust settles. |
paypalpains | 07-26-2010 04:50 PM | I will be receiving 18 packages, to three addresses over the next two weeks, all are around 10-15kg, never anymore. Better more packages than heavier ones. |
teedon | 07-27-2010 09:48 AM | Regarding to US market, the good way is shipping by DHL ,it is very fast ,we shipping many shippment each week which more than 100kgs per time with no problem but you need to mark different decription each shippment and also try to mark it common product name. | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 02:45 AM. | |
