Pre-Paid Cards/Bank accounts…
 

One thing I don’t get with all this is why you need a pre-paid credit card…
Surely if when you are getting a new bank account, you get a debit card as part of the package, you don’t need a pre-paid credit card, as you can just use the debit card instead when setting up eBay/Paypal accounts?

Im guessing its more if you've got bad credit and cant get a normal current account? Or am I missing a trick here?

So if you don't put a credit card on the paypal account, you cant lift the limits?

But surely there no difference between a pre-paid card and a debit one that comes with the bank account to ebay/ppal.

I know you need a bank account/card of some description, its just why you need a card thats different from your bank account?

not sure what you mean by need a bank account that is different from bank account? you can use your bank card or a virtual card either is acceptable to them..

but there are advantages to adding a virtual card..

You've got me on the last part...what are the advantages to adding a virtual card, instead of the debit card that you get with a new bank account?

few things, eg that you can control the fees coming from the card, and not hit overdraft
also, a pre-paid card can be in the stealth name and address, fees or credits coming from a real card can give away real details eg account name and if they need a print out of statement or pic of card, you can provide it more easily

If i make a stealth account with an entrpay card can i still use my bank account at my real address to verify the paypal account

yes you can m8 as long as your real addy or bank account isn't linked to any suspended accounts

does it need my real name with paypal and ebay same name as with my bank account or can i have a stealth account with false name and address and still use my bank account that is in my name

I understand the controlling funds part of the other cards but not the information part, as when you put in a bank account it has all the details they need and especially as they request you set up a direct debit?

Now I understand that for some reason ebay are not checking the bank accounts, but are you saying they are checking the cards or not?

Also anyone know why they do not keep a check on the bank accounts, as I am struggling to work that one out, as it just seems the obvious one to watch?

To answer the ops question

There are several bank accounts where you can't use the card but the bank account still works. So if you go to your bank and ask for one of these options, as a second or third account for security reasons then the other cards can be used.

If the account has not been used or the address on that account?

Sorry but it sounds like you are saying that if a new unused bank account is on an address that has been kicked then do not use it?

But how do you get a new bank account not on your own address? I would not be happy using someone else's.

Yeah that is what I assumed, but some of the advice is confusing me, as it sounds like they are saying if your ebay/paypal account is closed on one address then once you stick in a new unused bank account to your new ebay/paypal account, then the new ebay/paypal account will be linked due to the address on the bank account.
But to me that does not make any sense, as there are a lot of users that have had a closed account still opening new accounts, which means they have very understanding friends and family or they have just moved house.

What I have learnt is that you use a new bank account which hasn't been used with ebay/paypal before, and yes it has to be in your own name with real details as its the bank afterall, you can't mess around there. However, paypal only see the sort code and card number, and i'm pretty sure they can't check the name, so its as if your a new customer to them. But you can adjust the name on paypal anyway to your new stealth name.
