You cant just add new accounts to old ones. When a PayPal or eBay account gets limited everything it was attached to is gone.

Ok what about the other eb account that isnt limited, its a few years old and i just added pp to it at the start of the week before it got limited. The eb account is still working with no limits at the minute as i just checked it and took a listing off that i had because i cant take pp payment.

Do you think if i were to change my info on the eb account thats working to my brothers name and then set up a new pp account in his name that i would get away with it ?

I dont want to have to go into all this stealth stuff because its hard trying to change my ip address, i had to get on to my isp and tell them to change it for me, i told them i was having trouble with my connection and they done it so i couldnt be phoning them everyday.

Bottom line: There are no shortcuts. You cant just change info from bad info to good info and go... Sorry, its that cut and dry

Any info, and I mean ALL of it, that was tied to bad account is dead, gone, cant be used, cant be changed, cant be fixed, cant be fooled.... Get it? Sorry, but thats the way it is

Im not talking about my dead account, i have another account that i can sell from right now if i liked but it has my limited pp linked to it so i cant take pp for payment.

I just ended a auction today because of that, i didnt want someone trying to pay for the item and then not being able to and then pp triggering eb and the account would prob get limited more than likely.

This account is from 2004 as i just logged in now as i sold some mp3 players and im checking if i have any messages. Surely if i change just the name on this eb account it will be ok no ?

Is there anyone on here from the UK that is selling on eb with a limited pp account on there eb account ? and just contacting people at the end of the auctions and letting them know you cant take pp ?

Of coarse not! I know you are in a panic here, but think. Do you really think its that easy to unlink an account? By simply changing the name?

You CAN add a merchant account to the 2004 account though

Well this account used to be my brothers account and i changed the info on it a couple of years ago to mine info. I linked a pp account with my info to it aswell and sold a little on it with no problems.

I would have used the pp account already on this account only its been that long ago since i used it i cant remember the pp log in or the hotmail log in as i must have lost it when i moved.

Changing the info on a account has worked for me in the past. Maybe i should phone pp up and see if i can get that old pp account that was connected to the account years ago. I only have the email and i cant log into hotmail to get the password, pp have another way to get your password via telephone but i have a re-routed number on it which i cancelled years ago because i just focused on 1 eb & pp account.

I wish i still had focused on 1 eb & pp account and wouldnt be in this mess, i could sell anything i wanted on that account aswell with any volume.

That is all that matters. Again, sorry. I wish I had a magic answer for you but it does not exist.

I think what you are avoiding here is that when something is linked you can not remove that link. Does that make sense? Its there forever. Meaning all of those accounts that were attached are still linked even when you unattach them, close them, ignore them

No matter what you do, ever, those links are always there. Changing the name or info does not change the link

Anything new or different that you add or change will always be associated with that limited account. Everything and always. Point blank: Anything that touches that limited paypal is dead

So a limited eb account is the same as a supended eb account ? All my info is blacklisted by eb ?

If that was the case they would have just suspended my eb account surely !

Its not the ebay account that's your issue. Its getting paid with paypal. Your paypal is limited. You add a new account that's linked it too will go down. The ONLY word here that you need to focus on is LINKED <<< This can not be changed ever

So its only a matter of time before my eb account is limited then ? If i were to add a merchant account and not accept pp would that raise a flag with eb ?

That I dont know. I've never added a merchant account. Not sure how they view that. May be worthy of a new thread from folks that use merchant accounts

On a side note, I have had an eBay account going with paypal limited initial e-mail. I decided whatever and opened up second account with paypal for it - same details, unverified.

Lasted a few weeks - got shut down. Opened up third - unverified, whatever - lasting now a month or so. Yes, I know it's pointless - will get limited but burn and churn is in effect. I don't need the money badly so just waiting.

I understand what ur talking about being linked etc but with my pp account that iv had for the last 6 years, my brothers information was on it, his name and address in the postal part many times and he had his pp account limited about 5/6 years ago and they never linked to that once.

So im wondering if i could get away with it on eb, this eb account that i have live now was my brothers aswell (i changed the name and address with no problems). So im wondering if pp look into it the way your saying then the eb account would be limited right now because they could see that my brother used to have this account and the very 1st address on this eb account is black listed on pp, but its still alive now.

So im not sure what to do

I emailed pp earlyer today about the pp account that used to be linked to my older eb account (my 1 and only live account) and told them that i forgot the password for my account, hotmail account and also that i had moved house so the number wasnt the same either.

The guy who emailed me just told me to open a new pp account up and use that sayin i had lost my info and moved house.

It's criminal how PP can hold you money like that, the interest they must floating funds must be huge.

Then again they would say it's criminal how I owe them about £2000!, but they shouldn't have closed me down for no reason

I just changed the live eb account to my name and took the limited pp account off it, i will make a new pp account for it tonight or 2moro and try and change it abit from the limited pp info like instead of 20 s...... court, il put 20 s...... instead,il also put my bros name on it instead of mine and put the city down instead of the town etc this worked for me before in the past so i hope it works again.

Il get the account vertifed and see how it goes.

chris there is no point doing that, once the paypal is down you can use the live eb for buying (via non-paypal means) but nothing else, no point tweaking info and adding a new paypal, waste of time, they arent stupid and in fact you are just wasting fresh info that could be used elsewhere. Just make a new ebay/pp pairing, but I suggest you get the book first and follow step by step, you are way off on the basics...

What provider you using as there are not many with fixed IPs. If you have one can you not just tell them to switch you to a dynamic IP?
It would solve a lot of your problems
