Secure trust bank account prepaid: NOT WORKING JUNE 2011

I was going on google for prepaid bank accounts. I have atleast nearly 15 bank accounts, which mostly are useless due to me being suspended from paypal. I do not want to raise unwanted attention with my banks if i keep getting new accounts.

So i found prepaid bank account. It is similar to One Card Banking but with Secure Trust Bank offers you with a direct debit mandate something i was looking for.

Have anyone tried this bank with Paypal.

CONFIRMED NOT WORKING STEALTH PURPOSES JUNE 2011

kirkie 09-21-2010 05:32 PM

Not yet, but may be worth a look if you can set it up online that would be perfect..

eternity4u 09-21-2010 05:36 PM

I have just set it up online, they would be sending a application by post soon, you can have a look at google, just type in Secure Trust bank, but make sure you opt for prepaid.
It sounds promising.
Would keep you guy's posted of this outcome

kirkie 09-21-2010 05:39 PM

Payment
A fee of £12.50 is now payable to complete the opening of your account and to obtain your account number. Please input your card details below and click 'pay now'.
If you are unable to pay by card please click 'Postal payment'. This will allow you to post your payment (Cheque or Postal Order payable to Secure Trust Bank) to our freepost address. Once your payment has cleared we will open your account and issue your new account details by post. Please quote your reference number on all correspondence.

This is the messege i get, did you have to pay for yours?

eternity4u 09-21-2010 05:42 PM

Yes, but they wanted to a electronic identity check, and said would be in contact, so did not go through the payment process.
I think it is just a identity check, after this they would be taking the payment. Going to call up tommorrow and see the outcome.
What about you? Did you manage to go through?

kirkie 09-21-2010 05:42 PM

What about sort code, do you get one?

i am in process but we need sort code for paypal so find that out then it seems all good :peace:

eternity4u 09-21-2010 05:44 PM

Not yet, just have to check out tommorrow, i think identity check takes first priority.

kirkie 09-21-2010 05:50 PM

Secure trust bank guaranteed bank Account with debit card

No credit checks Prepaid MasterCard £12.50 + £12.50 monthly fee

Monthly fee dont sound to good tho?

eternity4u 09-21-2010 05:53 PM

The fee is small part to pay for a guranteed bank account.

Imagine not going through credit check and rasing flags with many many bank accounts.

Now can't wait to try this out

kirkie 09-21-2010 06:06 PM

Found a cheaper one here cash plus deluxe

Guaranteed Online Account Prepaid MasterCard £4.95 fee + £9.95 monthly fee

Google it

eternity4u 09-21-2010 06:08 PM

But does it accept Direct Debits. This is most important factor.

kirkie 09-21-2010 06:14 PM

Save time on paying bills

Quickly pay almost any company that accepts debit or credit card payment
Sort out your utility bills like electricity or gas, online or over the phone
Set up regular payments for everything from satellite TV to broadband

I think thats a yes, what do you think?

eternity4u 09-21-2010 06:18 PM

I just check out the website. Standing orders are different from Direct Debits. I would have to look into it.

If you think that this account accept direct debit, then great. But honestly i think my safe bet would be on Secure trust bank.

Now i am finding more accounts similar to Secure Trust Bank

eternity4u 09-21-2010 06:21 PM

Sorry Kirkie, cashplus deluxe dos not accept direct debits

Minimum Income £0 There is no minimum income required. Facilities Internet Banking yes Internet banking is available with this account. Branch Banking no Branch banking is not available with this account. Telephone Banking yes Telephone banking is available with this account. Debit Card no A debit card is not available with this account. ATM Card yes An ATM card is issued with this account. Prepaid Card yes A prepaid card is available with this account.

Direct Debits no A direct debit facility is not currently available with this account.

So only Secure Trust bank is good.

kirkie 09-21-2010 06:23 PM

Secure Trust bank it is then :)

thanks for pointing me in the direction.

I am waiting for HSBC account details to come through the post but will get Secure Trust bank up as well as we cant have to many for PP

eternity4u 09-21-2010 06:28 PM

I just found Think Banking. This bank accepts Direct Debits.

I have over 15 accounts with various banks to natwest to Rbs etc. So really need a prepaid account.

Would find all this info and would let you know the outcome

kirkie 09-21-2010 06:32 PM

How much does think banking cost?

eternity4u 09-21-2010 06:36 PM

4) How much does it cost?

There is a one-off set up cost of £25 which is taken from the first credit to be paid into your account.

A monthly administration fee of £12.50 is charged for running your accounts. You can choose to have a second card for additional account holders for £5.00 per month. If you are weekly-paid, the administration fee will be taken from the first income paid into your account each month.

WORTH A GO!

Does the HSBC savings account work for paypal?

Be careful with opening to many accounts in the same six month period, as each does a credit check, and each check looks like a mark on your account for six month.

sugarlaces 10-23-2010 05:46 PM

After reading reviews on secure trust bank I now have one. I sent money to the bank without confirming it, and 3 days on funds are still pending. From past experience i know high street banks completed sign in paypal appears after 24 hours. Im little worried if it will clear as at same time the paypal is in different name to the bank account. Anybody shed some light on this for me please?

Christianm 10-23-2010 06:07 PM

First time you deposit into secure bank the first deposit can take upto 5 working days, after that its normaly 2-3 working days after it saying completed within paypal.I always use the rule 3 working days but just this week even one account ive used for 1000s took 5 working days, its just depends on the volume they have to clear. The name wont matter 100% as its electronic and done on sort code and acc number only, the names i have are so different to whats on the account its a joke , it will clear by monday tuesday 100% if it says its completed within paypal.

Christianm 10-23-2010 06:08 PM

Just re-read what you said what do you mean you havent confirmed what exactly?

krsstyles 10-23-2010 08:07 PM

Hi, guys what can i do about the security check it says it use credit file

"The search will be recorded by Equifax on your credit file and other companies that search you will be able to see this search"

Its my mates paypal account over 2 years old. It is confirmed with her bank account but due to obvious reasons i said i wouldnt withdraw on it. So i added the secure trust (different name ofcourse) but I did not confirm this bank account within paypal. ie the 2 deposits or d/d incase the names of account holder didnt match. The account is showing as unverified so will it continousely let me withdraw to it without detaching the other bank which is confirmed or will i have to confirm it for long term solution. Thanks in advance

Christianm 10-27-2010 10:04 AM

as per previous posts ive used secure trust for months on multiple accounts works fine just takes 2-3 days more to clear the account as they manually process the transactions sometimes.

psthreeusb 10-28-2010 03:15 AM
