Upgrading to business account
 

Ok I have a stealth account, will have more in the next few days hopefully.

I am clearly not a private seller, and want to upgrade my account to a business account. Problem is that I didn't make a wise choice for an address for this stealth account and used my neighbours address.

I already have unchecked all the marketing boxes in Ebay to make sure I get no mail, and due to the nature of my business, returns to this address will not be a concern as I send return shipping labels out for everything

Anyway back to the original point, is there anything to look out for when upgrading a private account to a business account?. I don't really want to use my neighbours address, but then again my stealths won't have aged for another month yet, otherwise I would switch to another.

I'm thinking that upgrading might put me under the microscope, then again not upgrading will probably do the same!

Upgrading to business accounts has had no flags set etc in my experience, and every new ebay account I make is made to business within a few days of the yellow man doing one!!

agreed, it is just an automated upgrade, have not noticed any differenc in checks..

Interested in this thread - would you suggest starting as a personal account & then upgrading to business.
Also what about PayPal - I have everything in place for a stealth account (using a dodgy address) but should I go for private, premier or business PayPal

with a business account you get a letter from ebay welcoming you, with a personal account you dont. you may get a letter sent to your neighbour.

That's a pretty noteworthy post by jimsters - If I were to receive a letter welcoming me to ebay that was registered by someone else, I would definitely call them up - so that looks really bad and will cause you limitation if not blocking completely.

Yep that was my concern, would be game over. I will have to concentrate on using my other stealths for my business selling. Unless unticking the marketing boxes means the welcome letter doesn't get sent?

I dont think I ticked or unticked anything that I remember - Ive never had a letter, even though addresses are accessible in my case.

I got a letter when I upgraded to business on my last account,didn't tick or untick anything

I never even knew they sent a letter, all my reg details are micky mouse.
