Virgin broadband (hub). IP address change?
 

Hi to all.
I have obtained the ebay stealth, found it very helpfull. I'm just trying to set up a new stealth account. First problem is my IP address. I'm on virgin broadband, using a hub. Has anyone managed to change the IP on one of these. it's a modem/router. Can the address still be changed.

have you checked it on shutdown and reboot? use ip burger

so i would switch my hub off and then my computer and reboot it after switching the hub back on?

just switch hub off first, if it doesnt work, try hub and pc, if thats no good, leave both off overnight, and see, try easiest thing first.

I tried all the tricks with Virgin Broadband. Swith it off for a few minutes, few hours, over night, even went away for a long weekend with it switched off - still got the same IP.
Switch off the modem,change the mac address (see details elsewhere in these posts), switch the modem back on - bingo - new IP
Record the mac address you use. I currently run 3 stealth accounts on the same computer & just change the mac address to the one I set for each stealth account. It's a pain but it's got to be done

I too am on virgin broadband, and it worked fine, i use a netgear router, and for the first month on five accounts i had different ip's, but then i noticed all of the details eg 'cust697' became 'cust 697-5.1' and they all now have '-5.1' after the customer numbers, this concerns me, it seems to be some way of virgin knowing its all the same person, but so far, and probably for data protection reasons, they have not told, and ebay seemingly have not noticed.

But it is possible on virgin broadband, i just followed the guide, had a router, and its worked..........so far.

i posted a video a week or two back showing you how to do it with a net gear router connected to a modem on virgin broadband.

you can also just connect to the modem with your cable and use smac to change one letter/number of the mac, unplug and then reboot the modem

Can someone tell me how to change my MAC address with virgin media I too have purchased the selth boob and this is my stumbling block, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this kind of thing so you might have to explaine it in a bittle detail
