Does eBay track listings from past suspended accounts to new stealth ones?
 

Hi,

I'm new to this furum, and like many others have had my ebay seller account indefinately suspended. I've appealed, but its failed. My question is...If I sucessfully open another (strealth) account, do ebay have a system of remembering what your past stock was? I sell rare/out of print books. I would obviously go back in quietly and slowly, but for example if after a few months 50 of my old stock was listed, even at diferent prices, would this flag up alarm bells at ebay? They have deleted all my listings from my indefinately suspended account btw.

thats one of the things that could trip you up, no I dont think they they have a system per se, but watch how you phrase your title, make it completely different, obviously you might have to put the word book and vintage in but otherwise change it and your pics too. The old stock? leave it for a few months...could you also sell other stock mixed in, even if you sell it at cost, just to differentiate you.

If you owe ebay money you are much more likely to be hunted, otherwise you are just another suspendee....

The metadata from all the photos that you used on a Suspended account is stored,,,if you use the same photos from a suspended account you will get linked,,,

I Also suspect that the same goes for the items themselves,,,what are the odds of 2 Ebay accounts from,, lets say Peoria, Ill, selling the Exact same 4 or 6 Items? I will bet you that the odds are pretty High,,, and I would NOT Be Surprised if it is Proven that Ebay ( or Amazon, lets NOT forget them) suspends such accounts,,,

So, I would tend to Avoid such Circumstances just to be safe,,

Photos - yes. You want to use a program called Exif Tag Remover that will strip all the metadata from the photos if you intend to use them again, or just use new photos.

As for selling the same inventory, slow and steady will do it. Many have sold the same distinct inventory and many have sold similar and it still goes either way, there are no sure fires other than it will take you down if you instantly list the identical inventory.

You will need new photos and titles etc.
