mastercard cashplus prepaid work?

does the mastercard online banking prepaid card work for setting up ebay seller account. thanks all been limited 5 times ,do not even know what for... lol.

undertheradar 02-07-2011 09:20 AM

i have used it to verify uk pp account as a test, but account did not last long, around 2 months.

although i did but 30-40 items through account (most in second month after verification and limits lifted)

i think this card may raise red flag at pp, but i will need to conduct more detailed testing before i assume its the card.

although i believe i read somewhere else that people have had problems with cashplus and pp

why not use entropay ?

but you still need a bank account to sell right? or could you sell with using just this prepaid credit card and a phone number?

GreenBean 03-06-2011 03:58 AM

And how many times are you going to ask this same question???????????? :croc:

I don't think its my comprehension, rather I feel that the wording in some of these posts are rather misleading and ambiguous and non-reductionist. My premises for formulating the conclusion above is as follows:

1) The OP asks if MasterCard prepaid card can be used to setup an ebay seller account.
2) They talk of a CREDIT card, not a DEBIT card, but a CREDIT card.
3) undertheradar then says "i have used it to verify uk pp account"
4) undertheradar now has a verified paypal account using the named credit card.
5) I conclude, from the data given, that a credit card alone is sufficient enough to initiate sales

More so, this week I was able to sell on an unverified PayPal account.
All I did was phone verification and I am still listing items to this day.

So maybe some methods last longer than others - but there are OTHER methods out there to become a seller other the ones eBay so narrowly provide us with. I just want to know what these OTHER methods are e.g. the CORRECT way of using a cash ISA to sell. It may not have worked for me, but I'm sure it works as others have proclaimed it to have.

Knowledge is power. Some men feel more powerful my keeping Knowledge a prisoner within their own minds.

No, they do not. Read the posts again. The talk is of a prepaid card to use for paypal. There is no definition other than 'prepaid'. No post states whether it is a debit or a credit card. It is stated to be a 'prepaid card'. Then you come along and give the label 'credit' card. Neither of the other posters did.
Now I would be inclined to do a google search to see if there's more info, which there is. The site describes it as a prepaid card with the MASTERCARD logo. No mention of being debit/credit but only 'prepaid'.
Ergo your conclusion is invalid. The misfortunate appleation of credit card as opposed to MASTERCARD prepaid card caused that. Do I guess you are studying too hard:juggle:

If you go on their website and click on "How It Works"
The banner says "Prepaid Card | Great Alternative to a Credit Card"

Here is the link, not sure if it will allow me to post a link:
Prepaid Card | Great Alternative to a Credit Card | Cashplus

Yes, studying very hard...stay away from Freudian psychodynamic theory...total mind f##k

PS what does "Appleation" mean?

GreenBean 03-06-2011 08:01 AM

You sounded like you were studying Freud.

Well Done! You did notice the spelling error :thumb: Appellation= name !!

cortex 03-06-2011 08:04 AM

That was more of a philosophical way of arguing a point, using premises.

I'm still none the wiser on the actual topic we are talking about though lol silly me

We got Man United today ...could be a toughie!

yeah you can, i tried twice. once the account got pulled after a couple of months, but i did probably put to much trade through, and they did not like the docs i sent:eek:

second time, the account is still going. (just under 3 months) but only a small amount of trade

i did get payment holds both time, both accounts business. obviously papal know from the card number who the issuer is, i.e vcc or real cc.

some vcc raise flag more than others. this one seems okish

i have found if you use a real cc (or vcc not known to papal) and business accounts, and get fully verified before selling, im not getting payment holds. any one else verify this ?

cortex 03-10-2011 05:12 PM

Excellent! So we can sell...awesome!
why did they make u send in docs? which docs did they ask for?

is it better to use a business account? ive always used premier.

i think i might setup some of these badboys to sell on and then transfer the money to my other account which has a bank account attached to it.
