Default DHL Shipping to UK from China

Just wondering if anyone else has been told from the Chinese sellers that DHL is no longer a viable option to the UK due to the recent seized items?

I used them in early January with no problems but now my very reliable China seller is saying they are dangerous due to recent seizures and recommends EMS now for smaller packages.

Is the seller just trying to save postage costs after the Chinese New Year delivery price increases or is DHL no longer any good for the smaller packages?

I had to go with EMS in the end...

TNT are the best in my opinion. I have had no seizures and they get it here quickly.

EMS are such a slow economy service that the customs get the chance to have a look at your items and seize them.

Plus EMS is cheap, which is why your supplier wants to use them. Good if they pass the saving on but not if you have copied or logo featuring products which are unauthorised.

Having an Olympics in a country at any time is enough to heighten security for exporting and importing - add to the fact that officials are worried about counterfeits in general of Olympic goods.

Yes, one of my suppliers is saying the same thing this week. A right pain in the arse! My last ems arrived in the uk 2 days after leaving china - then another 12 days to clear customs.

My other orders are still coming via dhl without issue. Maybe they are just trying to get us to use ems because they are low on stock after the Chinese new year?

Obviously if the items in side are prohibited they will be seized if found (usually). Customs are really tight at the moment and just because you have got a couple of parcels through, don't go assuming that everything's fine.

Your Post Code and address get keet. They scan them. If you have too many shipments it will obviously flag up. I don't want to post anymore on an open forum. If you have any questions create a thread in the Subscribers area.
