Soho66 cant get call forwarding to work. Any ideas?
 

Hi. I just purchase a number from soho66 - I already use sipgate for one account but I thought I would try soho66 for my new account as I have read good things about them here.

I topped up a fiver and tried to use the call fawrding to my mobile but when I try to ring the soho66 landline numbey gave me, it just goes to voicemail.

Any ideas on what to do?

I have not downloaded any voip software or anything like that as I only want the number for the call forwarding to my mobile facility.

Bit gutted as I paid and am getting charged monthly for something I cant use at the moment.... and I wanted to get my new pp setup... oh well.... will have to wait to get it sorted.... I have sent them a ticket so hopefully they can help, but in the meantime if anyone on here knows....

Hello mate Its 10 pounds you have to add for credit to get it to work

You dont have to download any software for it to work but you will

HAVE TO GO into the part where you edit the number and then add the number you purchased in the display name section

I didnt do anything. I tried to ring it later and it all worked how I wanted. Maybe a delay being Sunday.

It seems to have worked with just the £5 topup.

Hey alps - does your mobile let you know who it is calling you - ie do you know its the redirected number getting patched to your mobile (and therefore likely to be eBay or PPal) ?

I rang the landline soho gave me from a spare phone I had and the number of the spare phone came up on my mobile. I think there is an option on soho account settings to show the soho number. If you want me to check let me know. If there is an option for the soho number to be displayed it could be good as you wont need lots of mobiles as I do detailed below.

What I am doing at the moment is using cheap basic mobile phones for different accounts so I know who to be when a certain phone rings.

If you are after a cheap mobile, at the moment there is an offer for the nokia 1800 which has about 1 month standy per charge so is ideal.

The offer is if you buy 10 quid credit, you get the phone for 2p. The phone comes unlocked and the topup is with voda.... all delivered next day!!!

If you go through some of the cashback sites, you get 7.50 back so at the end of it all you end up paying about 2.50 for 10 quid credit and the unlocked phone.

So if you are setup like me, you may aswell get a few in. I do not give the number to anyone so if they ring I know its eb or pp.

I am sure there are other ways of doing things but this is what I am doing for a bit.

Oh.... just to say with the 5 quid credit, I can get about 4-5 minutes of call forwarding to my mobile.... I hope thats long enough for the chat when eb or pp call!!!

with most of th viop providers I have found that its approx. 10p/min if someone rings in and you have call forwarding setup to a mobile.

Ideally, I would feel more comfortable with a tenner on there so I can have about a 10 minute chat if someone rings but I am bit broke.

So if anyone knows approx. how long the call is if eb or pp call let us know... thanks
