Natwest Savings Account

Hi guys,
Im wondering if any of you UK people know whether Natwest Savings - (called first reserve) are currently working with paypal?
such as accepting DD and the verification amounts from paypal...
thanks for your help!

Alps_a somewhatlegend 03-02-2011 12:11 AM

If it is the e-savings account then I am just waiting for my pp deposits to come through - prob. tomorrow. I have read on here ntwst e-savings are ok

If it is not the e-savings account you are talking about then I dont know - I think it is not an e-savings you are talking about - sorry.

I just looked into the first reserve and looks interesting - I am interested in your question too - I didnt know about that account until your post so thanks

I will try it next week and can let you know then but hopefully someone else know from experience and can answer the question quicker.

Can you open the e-savings online then?

Ye ive had this first reserve account along when i got my student account yearssss back so thought I may as well use it for a paypal account if anyone knows if first reserve natwest accounts work?

Alps_a somewhatlegend 03-02-2011 08:24 AM

yes e-saving can be opened online in seconds if you already bank with them. At the end of applying, you get the sort cd and ac number straight away.

I think I read on here you can open as many e-savings as you like with nwest!!!

Imakemoney 03-02-2011 10:06 AM

thats great! Do you get a debit card with it or just a savings account online?

I suppose I could set a few up and then just transfer funds to my natwest main account online?

Alps_a somewhatlegend 03-02-2011 11:46 AM

No card came for me - I dont think these guys give a card on that e-saving account - coop give a card though n their evsavings - again easy apply online and you get a card in post for link machines - yeee haaa

Yes.. just do online banking and transfer instantly to your main ntwst account - and the other way if you want. When I opened my ntwst e-savings I transfered a couple of quid to the e-savings just to make sure its live and active and ready to go

Imakemoney 03-02-2011 11:52 AM

I wish someone would let me know if it works with the first reserve natwest accounts.

Hopefully someone will know :)

Yeah thats great i already have two coop current accounts so make look to opening a savings too!

WARNING!

E-savers DO NOT WORK!

I've tried natwest, rbs, halifax e-savers, All will accept DD, and you will receive all your incoming paypal deposits. Your paypal will be fully verified for 1-2months.

Then, BAM!!!!!!! E-saver bank accounts will be removed from your paypal. It will adventually be kicked back by the bank rendering it useless. So please do not waste your time.

Bummer - big bummer

I made some business plans (dreams) in my head and now I will have to re-think

Thanks for sharing

Imakemoney 03-08-2011 03:29 PM

can anyone else confirm that savings accounts are not compatible with pp in the long term?

and why does tha bank kick it back?

sax4 03-08-2011 04:00 PM

How long ago was the bank added and were you able to safely withdraw to the account? Also did you receive a bank card with this "reserve" account?

sax4 03-08-2011 06:45 PM

A few months ago, still working to this day, yep got a visa card.

stickmade 03-08-2011 06:54 PM

oh very good, i thought reserve was some kind of e-saver but i guess its not. Think i'll give that a ago. I already have 3 natwest step accounts, you think i could get 1-2 natwest reserves aswell? hehe

sax4 03-08-2011 06:57 PM

Yeah mate, I have an Advantage Gold account and a couple of FR accounts. Just say you want to have an account for bills as you live in shared accommodation or something. phone up and they give your your account number straight away :)

stickmade 03-08-2011 07:00 PM

nice one, can i ask, what is an FR account?

sax4 03-08-2011 07:01 PM

First Reserve you big poo ;)

stickmade 03-08-2011 07:10 PM

first reserve works, but esavers do not work for most high street banks as far as i know. I got four accounts with natwest and esaver will receive the deposit but thats how far it goes

cortex 03-08-2011 07:56 PM

cheers guys - good work

imprezawrx 03-09-2011 09:38 AM

isitworththestress 10-29-2012 11:11 AM

First reserves have been stopped now so just wondering what your accounts turned into?

sax4 10-29-2012 11:18 AM

Since when? Some changes?

isitworththestress 10-30-2012 07:21 AM

Just looked at mine and realised what the first reserve accounts were.

It is just the Natwests basic current account.

But they can't be got online

read on one of the sites they were being discontinued

Man, you are going on the list for glasses too.

the rsotits is catching

Seems a trend to post and not correctly

Anyway to conclude this matter...

First Reserve Accounts for some time seemed to accept the DD (not sure as mentioned above if they were basically current/basic accounts or not).

They no longer exist as a 'First Reserve Account'.

Natwest Basic accounts are however fantastic for stealth :peace:

Good try.

It was just as it was posted.
