I have noticed in recent weeks, ebay have been putting some sort of tag on some of my listings, i was at a friends house and thought i would just check how a few of my listings were doing, and on several of them, when i opened the page, the computer bleeped and said this website wants to install something or other, but it was not ebay wanting to install, it was microsoft, strange i thought.......... At least it gave me the option to not install it.
Is this some sort of new tracking device? Are microsoft in cahoots? it was on items which i had sold in previous weeks several times (because i had several of them, model cars is all, but one week it was all my bmw's and the next some different marques) most peculiar.
and today, suddenly every time i open a new page on ebay, logged into my home computer on my parent ip and user id, MALWARE ALERT!!! shouts avast, not to worry they say, avast has stopped it, but still.....what the f' is ebay trying to do?
Just because i'm paranoid, don't mean they're not after me...
Any answers much appreciated.

Also, as an aside, sometimes i use a laptop which does not have all my user accounts on it, but i clean it religiously after each session, however firefox seems to remember all my user id's, if i click on the ebay user id box, all my id's come up as options, this cannot be a good thing, how do i get rid of them?

To clear out cookies etc., I use ccleaner - its fast, easy to use and works - that should sort your id problems in firefox on yer lappy.
If you dont want to use that program, in the options menu in firefox, you can choose to clear browser history from there.
I have a feeling though you have tried all this already.

Yeah, ccleaner does not affect them in the slightest, probably nothing, just bugs me.

are microsoft in cahoots, god I hope not,
I dont think its an issue, but I had a malware alert too recently about twice using ebay, thought it was a false positve.
hopefully your software blocks it and its ok..is it new tracking, maybe...

I recently had some kind of Avast cookie too that was blocked and identified as potential trojan...weird now that it has been brought up.

And all your accounts shouldn't be together like that

I did read the Stealth Book, but i figured as the desktop was on its own user account, then a clean lappy would be enough, all the cookies are still there on the main computer, can they see past the main computer? or would the lappy share the user profile of its host?
man this is getting teknikul |

Calm yourself,,Some of the Posters on this thread Helped WRITE the Stealth Book, and you Just insulted them,,
They KNOW what needs to be done with cookies,
The concern here is that there might be some type of NEW Threat cooked up by Ebay with Microsofts Help,,which By the Way I feel is VERY Unlikely,,Just my Opinion,,
