I just rang the bank and removed the paypal direct debit off my account so alls good now! |
| unkown5454 | 04-28-2011 03:09 AM | Yesssss...remove all banking information. |
Close the bank account or make sure at the bank that automatic withdrawals are blocked. |

| whatnow | 04-28-2011 12:20 PM | cancelling d/d should do this for you, no one can remove monies from a bank account other than the tax man without a d/d or standing order |
| GrannyT | 04-28-2011 12:21 PM | Can the taxman do that? I never knew. |
It's only NOT extreme if you OWE money to pa yp al. I have had limited accounts with banks attached that do not owe money so that's whatever.
Removing the pa yp al DD is not enough - you need to turn that account into DEPOSIT ONLY +/- personal withdrawal (i.e. only YOU can present at branch teller and do withdrawal) |
| GrannyT | 04-28-2011 12:26 PM | Sorry rsot, it's a bit different over here in the 'Mother Country'. The banks have to do what you tell them. If you cancel DDs and they allow it the banks are liable. PP may like messing you about but they wont go up against the banks. .:amen: |
| arpichelago | 04-28-2011 12:29 PM | So...
What does paypal do if these stealth accounts get limited with some ridiculous negative balance?
Do you think they will listen to an argument such as 'well, it looks like I have some of your money and you have no way of finding me. Since it was your decision, I will not be restoring the negative balance until the limitation is lifted...' |

When I got terminated they handed everyone their money back even though I had sent the items and had feedback. When they contacted me I suggested they used the county court - I never heard from them again! |
Wait a minute - i follow now - so you are trying to stiff pa yp al? Unless legitimately so (And I would need to see WHY), I am off of this thread.
Sorry to sound arrogant but bypassing pa yp al is one thing but stiffing it to them...I don't want to get involved in screwing with them. These are but some of the reasons why they get so hard on other people =( |

I'm not sure that's what the OP said - but surely if PP have stiffed you (as outlined in my last post on this thread) then there is some justification for telling them to put it where the sun doesn't shine - or should we just roll over, let them tickle our bellies and take what they want from us?
I gave them the opportunity to take their claim against me to the County Court - they chose not to.
Having read some of the horror stories about PP on these forums I cannot see there being a lot of sympathy for them if someone prevents them from shafting them some more. . |
I might have been out of line but whatever - i see the justification if you have monies owed. |

I was banned on ebay 18 months ago for selling phone blockers and I presume they linked my account by her phone number (silly me) and I had my own money on ebay from selling a mountain bike and stuff and now Im here on this site trying to sort a stealth account. |

These are but some of the reasons why they get so hard on other people =( | Paypal stiffed me out of about $12,000 back in 2008 when they introduced their "Best Match" feature and it did not even work properly for about 3 months.
Paid them $400,000 total up to that point in advertising fees ($4000 a month for 8 years).
They refused to give me any sort of refund, though their website clearly was not working according to their claims (guys with 77% feedback on top and guys with 99.8% in the middle. I had a 98% and was dead last).
At any rate, there are many who have been stiffed by Paypal. So are we to just take it and then just keep going negative when they do so?
Honestly, I am beginning to wonder how paypal even stays in business. Are they paying off people or something? |

And someone mentioned direct debit, be careful with them as that mandate lasts a year for reposting, and even though paypal have not done the second send trick, it does not mean they can't. Quote:

Re: Can paypal remove funds from your bank account Pretty old thread but it should be noted.
It really depends on the country in which you have an account
In USA (not sure about UK) paypal can take money from your bank account.
In Countries like Germany, Austria and Poland it's illegal, and all they can do is send debt collector aganist you. |

Honestly, I am beginning to wonder how paypal even stays in business. Are they paying off people or something? | I think the argument for those that do not believe in ripping off paypal is that the only thing that company cares about is money and if that negative balance of lost monies goes too high then they try find ways of fixing the problem.
Which would be more than likely bad for stealth.
And to the Op if they used a genuine bank card then you need to loose or break it and ask for a replacement.
Also a company has the right to restart a DD on the same mandate with in a certain length of time. Paypal however do not do this, even when you want them to. |
| stevebills | 07-21-2014 04:48 PM | Re: Can paypal remove funds from your bank account if u owe paypal pay them there a business they need the money and if they sting u lie down for 180 days and or a holiday come back in 6 months and smell the sweet money
