mywifi4 app a must for iphone 4 users

mywifi4 app makes your iphone4 a wireless modem and therefore gives you a new ip address its great and u get free internet on your notebook

Yep, good app, and I believe the iphone has to be jailbroken in order to be used, which isn't hard to do, lots of sites that help you step by step.

I use android, tether right out of the box using PDANET, and unlimited Data.

Themightycrow 04-28-2011 01:59 AM

PdaNet is what i use on my Iphone works better then the MyWifi app personally.

Matter of opinion and I have been told you need a cable for pdanet so it sounds like not a good idea to me when I can wifi instead but hey u tell me Im wrong and stick up foryourself :hail:

It doesn't matter to me, as long as I have access to the internet. I use PDANET, haven't tried MyWi 4.0, heard it works well though, either Is okay in my book, as long as I can get the job done. I would like to try wifi though, but unfortunately they don't have MyWi for Android users, so I'm going to have it rooted. Good Luck with your internet access, I'm sure it'll help you out with your accounts.

You can either root or buy a stock Google experience phone.

Thats not true

3 options

You turn youre phone into a Wifi hotspot ( best way )
Turn it into a Wifi Client
or USB teather.

Plus the apps free

I've got an iPhone 3G is their an app that will allow me to do the above or is it only available for Iphone4?

Themightycrow 05-02-2011 06:13 AM

Is you're device jailbroken?

aking 05-02-2011 09:37 AM

MyWi 4.0 is awesome. I tether my iphone4 3G connection to my ipad for free!! No paying for 2 separate data plans.

MyWi 4.0 FTW!!

Been told PDANet is a pain to setup on WiFi, you first had to create an AdHoc network from your computer

Did not have to do that myself. Just press on and then connect from the computer !

This app is now deprecated for iphone 4 owners as ios 4.3 had wifi hotspot integrated into the system

Not for free. Like the other jailbroken apps.

Google experience phones are devices that run 100% stock Android as the OS was originally intended. Most of these are unlocked, out of contract devices. Samsung Nexus S and HTC Nexus One are 2 examples. Huawei U8150 makes a wonderful device that can be had for under $150 and runs Froyo (Android 2.2) which allows free tethering. When buying one of these devices, just make sure you research what frequencies they run on. This will tell you whether or not you will run on 3G or just EDGE speeds. Both of those slaughter 56K modem speeds anyways, so it doesn't really bother me. Any unlocked Android 2.2 or above OS device running stock Google experience and not branded by any carrier is all you need.

Sure, the new iOS enabled tethering...once you pay $20+/month or more to your carrier. It is not free unless you have a jailbroken device. And even AT&T is blocking that now.

Well, not every carrier world wide is like the states. None of the carrier here in Canada is charging additional for tethering.

Then again, our plans were overpriced to begin with
