Hi

Need some help please. I have started selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ pandora bracelets on ebay as do many other people. I put some items on last week and at the weekend had them taken down by ebay and my account has been restricted for 7 days when I cannot sell anything. I have also told not to relist.

Ebay told me that 'We received a report concerning the authenticity of your item'

I am pretty certain that this is a competitor as they sent me a message via ebay asking me not to use their images - which I did not, they were standard images from the supplier.

Not really sure what to do as I feel that this competitor will report me again if I put the item back on.

Can I relist if I reword? Can I use my account to sell or will ebay keep watching me? How can they discriminate against one seller when there are 100's doing it?

no way - if you are not limited in numbers after your 7 days are up, you should count yourself very lucky.

You will need another account to sell these - possibly more as they will go down quickly - unless you are ultra careful in your strategy.

Plus if they are @@@@ - expect lots of refunds, claims - disputes and headaches. You have to be smart when dealing in @@@@.

You are set to lose your account - you really have done everything wrong here - everything. You are using someone elses pictures to sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Did you really think you could get away with that?

If you relist you will get permanently barred.

As far as discrimination is concerned they can do as they like - it's their venue after all.

I'm not sure what you expect from this forum but I suspect you are not going to hear anything you like.

IMO you need to stand down, get educated and redesign your whole business strategy.

If you are determined to sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗ you will need to learn account creation very quickly because you will burn accounts at a tremendous rate

thanks for the reply - did not expect to hear anything I liked and appreciate your honesty. Where do I learn account creation from?

I know it is their venue but how can they discriminate against one seller when they know loads of other sellers are doing it? Can I relist if I reword and take my own photo's?

Carry on with the constructive criticism - appreciate it. Can you recommend a good website/book where I can learn what 'NOT' to do?

i sympathise with you - it is oh so tempting - and you actually got the idea from eb itself.
You need the stealth guide and some thinking time. You are going to need a lot of disposable accounts to sell what you have. How much money have you invested in your stock? If you are determined to shift it - you will need to take it really slow with established accounts or burn and run with disposable accounts. However, you will probably be limited to 10 items per month anyway if selling in that category - maybe less.

what will happen after the 7 day period? In the email I had from them it said:

Please be assured that your account is not suspended, the restriction will be lifted automatically once the seven day period is over.

Will they contact me?

i don't really know - they didnt give me this - just booted me off.
I think the wording sounds positive though - don't you think?

You' new to this forum so i will go gently with you.

Your whole business strategy is doomed to failure unless you learn, very quickly, what you are doing wrong.

IMO you need to get hold of a copy of the guide and read it from beginning to end.

After you have done that make yourself a cup of tea or coffee and do it again.

Repeat this step at least 5 times.

Then you come on the forums and ask questions. You will get lots of stealthers saying to you things like 'use the search button', 'read the forums', 'read the guide' and you will also get gems of information from the likes of GB, RSOT, ShadyOne, Imake$, Oompahloompa and lots and lots of others who have all been where you are now. But bear this in mind my young jedi - they all talk from experience and they share their knowledge freely.

In no time at all if you are a good student you too will become a master of stealth.

Are you selling on there now? If so how did you manage it?

Dear restricted,

first rule to learn is protect and safeguard your own ebay account. do not do something just because you see others doing it. You have no way of knowing what is going on with their accounts.
ebay run the show. Proven fact. ebay do what they want. Proven fact.
If ebay say do not list an item ON THE GROUNDS IT IS NOT REAL, do not do it.
You have been lucky enough to get a warning. Your account is still up.


Selling foo-foos™ is not correct. Simples.
To learn more, I would recommend an extensive amount of time reading here.
Others have been in your situation. Preapre to learn.

you need the guide - that's how i managed it.
But i have had to adjust my strategies completely. I had stock just sitting there looking at me - i had to move it out of sight, was knocked sick everytime i thought about it.
You need multiple accounts and study time.

NAHB used these forums properly and is now trying to help you to do the same
