Advice needed!!

Hi All,

New to the forums but long time eBayer.

I've had a few accounts linked and suspended in the past, one with over £2000 in which I have to wait 6 months for aswell. But anyway:

I regg'd a new account in a family members name (they knew) and have been selling successfully for past 1-2 weeks.

However this morning paypal called her asking to confirm a few things, to which her reply was, oh, my son deals with everything on ebay/paypal. They said okay call back when he is with you and we can talk.

I think they only wanted to confirm the bank details and withdrawals etc.

But now, the paypal account has been limited, asking for passport/invoices/postage details.

I need advice on:

1. Do I call them with the family member with me and speak to them?

2. Or do I just submit the required docs?

What do you think the likelyhood of having the limitation removed is?

Cheers!

well its just that they asked for account holder, which the relative said yes to, and then she says that someone else deals with it, ie. its not really her account. Not sure if her calling will do anything now that docs have been asked for. If you are confident on what she will say, let her talk to them, if it were my mother, who cant even use the internet- boy she would make it much much worse.... they may let docs slide, doubt it though...If you talk to them I suppose you could say it was her business but you helped her set it up, but honestly I dont think they will like not talking to account holder.

Generally, if you submit docs there is no reason why the limitation should not be removed. Will they be unhappy about the 'my son deals with it' comment - fingers crossed.

Yes. I agree. I feel its best to fax in the information they require as over the phone they get confused sometimes.

Keep it simple, get the required docs, fax them through and keep fingers crossed with regards to the 'son deals with it'. I am sure others will comment, then you can make you mind up on which way to procced... good luck

Welcome to the forums.

Always tough to gauge the possibility of reinstatement. You have to follow pa yp al's steps and hope for the best. Submit and call them up.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the welcomes and replies!

I've called them (got the family member to call initially) and explained the situation that she's still new to paypal so gets help from me, I then talked to them..

Earlier I submitted the information Paypal required, except invoices/supplier info, I have these but they're not in her name, instead I just uploaded PDF's stating why I don't have them.

I spoke to a nice lady and she understood the situation and I just need to submit one last tracking # tomorrow then it can be submitted for review.. what do you think?!

Hi welcome, follow the advice given.

This is one of the problems with using someone else's details. People often forget about contacting PayPal or vice versa.

I'd say the chances of them re-instating your account are slim, but it's worth trying to salvage it.

Hi guys,

Got the dreaded email late last night that the account has been suspended and will not be lifted :/

That's £2500 paypal have of my money in 2 accounts now, anyway I can wait 180 days, lesson learnt, I bought the stealth guide so will be starting a new thread..

Cheers

If you have everything they request then fax it in
at this point you have nothing to lose.

If they ask you or your mum anything about the account then you want to try and make a plausable excuse as to why you are using the account.

ng87, sadly this is what pp does - "nice lady" yeah right - just with her finger on the disconnect button waiting to hang-up.

All the best with new stealth accounts.

Me thinks there is no such thing as a nice one on pp... they suck you in and stuff you up..... I dont know why they waste their time and money when they know you aint gonna get sorted.

I knew from your post what was more than likely gonna happen..... welcome to the real world of the 'matrix' :) ... aka eb/pp

I rekon you played it wrong.... when you rang them you should have spoke to them and said nothing about any family.... keep it simple..... much to learn my friend.... and it dont stop
