anyone have any wisdom on how to go about selling and taking deposits on ebay uk. From what I have read selling limits are higher, that couple with the exchange rate makes it very attractive to sell.

question? DO they have thier own version of a social security number?

1, Book a holiday in the UK
2, Check into your hotel
3, Next day go and open a bank account
4, Wait few days for paperwork etc.
5, Open new EB and PP account using stealth
6, Start listing
7, Return to the states
8, Log in from the USA
9, Get suspended for not having UK IP

Listen to what GT has posted there can be many implications to doing business from another country such as the IP issue.

ebay and paypal dont like proxies, and if they see the IP doesnt match the country your operating in this will also prompt them to limit you.

So firstly before deciding which bank/s to use sort out getting a UK IP....then come back and Ill give you a list of the best banks to use :peace:

There is no SSN in the UK. There is another type of ID needed called NIC. However, there are changes being made at the moment because of EEU regulations. My advice would not be accurate so I shall refrain from further comment.

asking for a UK bank and then an address is not straightforward.

You need to use google to see what is available for a UK address. Although few & far between, they are obtainable.

Use google to see which USA banks have offshore bank accounts. Those, in the long run, will be suitable for you to access funds.

The other easier option is to list on ebay.com with shipping to UK.

I already knew about how to change my ip,that is what he told me to do and some comment about flying to the UK is tantamount to flaming IMHO

however you what posted will be useful thankyou. offshore bank accounts would be good Iinvestigated and all the bank accounts I found require thousands of dollars opening deposit.

Used be done in reverse, which you may not know. UK users would go over to the USA and get bank accounts.

VPN is out,. You need do it slightly differently.
The bank account is a big question. UK banking regulations are as strict as the USA. You still need certain requirements to be meet to get an account & I can not think of any that are doable online.:juggle:

Remember cheap "VPN" services offer dedicated "IP" addresses I would not recommend in using a cheap "VPN". Although the dedicated "IP" addresses are "Recycled" therefor you could end up with a "IP" address that has been blacklisted by eBay/PayPal. Listen to "IMake$" there's many implications when selling from a different country, do your homework first before you go and make the choices you have. Hope you resolve the issue.

if you had a residential address of someone you know, you could open a UK acc, online, however I think they would ask more questions once you submit ID that was non UK or non EU, what those questions are and how to overcome them - dont know. I had a relative from EU, few years ago open an acc in my address successfully and its still going, they were from EU country though, they were a student here for a while but I dont think they got asked for anything other than ID.

I look at it like this your options are limited pending the information you've been given by us, and therefore you should use the information provided wisely. There a few avenues for you to go down like above if you, got access to a UK residential address you would have one foot in the door. Secondly I don't know much about non E.U members about submitting documents, required to open a bank account in the UK from a non E.U state. Therefore I would firstly go down this route secondly obtaining a UK I.P address is an essential tool to geographically use a UK eBay sellers and PayPal account. I've used several USA VPN services and vice-versa but I'm not going to go down that avenue, but there's loads of VPN services available to you also. If you look around the forum these questions have already been answered for you. Hope you resolve this matter.
