Chargeback against Paypal Query

Hi, does anyone know if its possible to do a chargeback if the funds are being held by Paypal due to a limited account?

If I were to go about doing a chargeback, who do I say has the funds? Do I say I bought an item and it wasn't received so now I want my money back but paypal is holding them? If they ask why - what do I tell them?? Paypal is holding the funds because my account is limited and think it is in the process of being closed down on me...!

My pp account is in a different name similar to mine but I bought an item using my real name & real credit card. If I do a chargeback, do I tell the credit card company I was buying something on behalf of someone else??

Any advice greatly appreciated - can't seem to find exactly the info I am looking for on the internet !

Not quite sure what you are telling us here OP

If you do a chargeback it can only come from the source of payment - thus if you were claiming on your card that you had paid £200 for something there would have to be a digital 'paper trail' between the card and the account.

If there is what are you doing using your own card on a stealth account? Most people want to get money out not put it in - but I may be misreading what you are saying

What I meant was - I bought a mobile phone. Source of funding was my credit card. My account got limited. My credit card account has been debited. I don't want to pay interest on money which paypal is holding and therefore want to get the money back onto my credit card. So I am wondering if I were to do a chargeback, would the money be returned to my credit card or would it just sit in my paypal account and secondly, if paypal are holding the money, is it possible to do a chargeback as the seller hasn't received anything? My pp account is in a diff name to mine.

if you do the chargeback through your credit card, then normally the money will eventually go into your bank, or back on your card depending on the set up your card has.

Paypal like to act like the school bully with us, but once the big boys play in the yard they cower in the corner and wet their pants.

I suppose the other factor would be what happened to the sale, and was the buyer involved? That is where things become complicated.
