Profit Per Item

Ok so, i have placed my first small order of stock. Now im just finalising the selling price for it to work out my net profit etc. So what would you guys advise for a average net profit. The items selling will only range from £2.49-£5.99 ish and the net profit works out at £0.88-1.70 ish would you say this seems fair or too high etc? Thanks

To cover all the costs and return a profit you need at least 3 times your cost on micro's (anything under a tenner) IMO

for the profit you stated, for me, i would need to be selling 10's of thousands, to be happy with a substantial return...

Yes smellybelly but you've been around awhile. The young Jedi Knight is just starting and hasn't got the money to put down yet. I think he's trying to get lifted off.

Go for it teenageebayer and don't forget to re-invest and keep selling. Best of luck with it

very small profit You need huge turnover to make a money out of it. If you look at % of what you invested it is good but, as i said depends how much work you want to put into it as i wouldnt run to post office to make 80p unsless i would sell 200pcs a day. But, every1 has to start somewhere.

Always have to start somewhere - and explore the market.

Thanks guys! Just finished watching the Apprentice very in keeping with this discussion haha. Yer i think it seems ok as i build up profit from lower cost items i can re invest in more stock and more expensive items. Plus my post office is only a 3 minute walk away so i would do that for 80p :P Again thanks for all the advice :-)

I've just watched that and that's how I started trading all those years ago

Try look at your competitors, if you try sell too low bellow them, then they may retaliate and if you sell too high then you will not get sales.

When it comes down to it the market always dictates the price. For the seller it is generally just what you can get away with.

Good look

On small price you need to be carefull as there's many selleres selling below costs just to make feedback and lots of these who buy in container quants and i think price is still main factor along with good listing and photos.
