PayPal transfers to bank account taking ages

Is anyone else experiencing their PayPal withdrawals in Pending status for over 48 hours?

I've withdrawn 4 times and each time it's taken around 2-3 days to go from pending to completed. The first three were on Friday evenings so maybe that's why, but I withdrew yesterday morning and it's still saying Pending.

On my old legit accounts it used to go from pending to complete within a few hours, why the heck is it taking so long now?

How old is your PayPal account? mine is 3 months old and transfers are taking 24 hours to go from pending to completed.

Also it is a Lloyds TSB account? if so are you using the correct name, Lloyd's don't like people using ⊗⊗⊗⊗ names.

Around 3 months old. It's a Halifax account. I just don't understand the time it takes to go from pending to complete. It gives me the willies!

stealthmaster 07-14-2011 07:13 PM

My Halifax easy cash account takes about 2-3 days normal time for PayPal to submit and then receive the funds.

I have an EasyCash account too. Do you mean that the transfer is pending for 2-3 days or that you normally see the money in your account after 2-3 days of withdrawing?

Pending for 2-3 days is quite long.

What i do notice is that the strength of the paypal account often dictates how long they stay 'pending'. How old is the account?

Once thing I have noticed recently on the other hand is the paypal money ridicolously long to hit my coop bank accounts. :(

Never even watched the pending on money I send to the bank but have noticed that some banks take longer than other.

barcalys 2 to 3 days

Co op 3 to 5 and give up if close to a weekend

Hello no the funds are available in my PayPal account in 2-3 days pending time is about 12 hours maximum.

ensignia 07-15-2011 10:28 AM

This is all a bit strange though. Each time the money has come through very quickly once it has gone from pending to complete, but it stays on pending for over 48 hours which is surely not normal?

How old is your account? Mine's 3 months old, and has feedback of 11 (all but 1 from selling).

dilwsi 07-15-2011 10:36 AM

my account went like this..

Mine used to change from pending to complete within the 24hrs...
Then it started taking 1-3 for the status to change..... low and behold... my account was closed...

ensignia 07-15-2011 03:13 PM

dilwisi, more details needed!

Was it a stealth account? How old was it and what were you selling?

isitworththestress 07-15-2011 03:19 PM

Yeah it does sound as if someone is taking an interest in it, if it is taking that long.

No not a stealth account. I had the account for years.
I was selling the flytouch 3, a pad similar to the iPad. Its a chinese touch pad.

Does anyone know if these pads are considered high risk ?

I was selling well and the i tried to make a withdrawal, took 2 days to change to completed...

Then the next one took 3 days. The rest of my withdrawals within 10 days all sat in pending for about 2-3 days. I knew there was something wrong because this never happened before.

Then account limitation and paypal holding £300 on me for 6months.

Now i have no paypal account, and because of this my ebay account has also been closed.

I dont think you can put a set time on how long transfers from Paypal to your bank account will take. I have done it for years with different accounts and banks and most of the time its completely random the amount of time it takes for money to be pending / completed and actually appear in your bank. For instance on Monday evening I transferred £50 into my Halifax account, I opted to pay the £5 for the fast payment service, and the money was in my bank account on Tuesday morning - thats less than 24 hours! But the week before I tried to do the same and I didnt receive the money in my bank account until Friday - so that time it took several 'working days'. It seems to me that sometimes it will be quicker than other times, it might just be a matter of how busy they are at Paypal and if they arent as busy then you will receive your money quicker. Put it this way, dont ever plan anything around thinking you will definetely have your money in your bank account within 3 working days cos you can guarantee it wont be there, but on the other hand it just might be.... see what I mean?

Spoke to someone at PayPal about this, and apprently until my seller account is 90 days old, and all holds and limits are lifted each withdrawal will be pending for the maximum 72 hours. Don't know what to make of it really.

dilwsi 07-16-2011 02:05 PM

@Johnny, i know what you mean.

But ensigina is talking about the time it takes from when the state goes from pending to complete.

Complete doesn't mean that the transfer has completed. It just means that paypal have completed their part of the transfer and sent the funds to you account.

I was told by paypal that it would only happen the first time i tried to withdraw the money and the next time it wouldnt happen.

I try to leave the funds in my account for at least 24hrs after receiving them as a guy at paypal told me if i keep transferring them immediately that this flags a check.
So this why i started leaving funds in the paypal account for a while..... guess what... same thing happened.

And a week later account closed...!!

But why was the account closed, just because you actually tried to access your money?

Hmmm - first time ever I have a payment not go from pending to complete in less than an hour. Withdrew at 9.00am and it's now 16.30 still showing pending.

GrannyT 08-02-2011 12:19 PM

eBay King 08-02-2011 10:27 PM

Did all the withdrawls go through OK in the end?

GrannyT 08-03-2011 07:57 AM

No - still showing as pending - now 36 hours - starting to get worried
