Sending Documents to PP, which is the best way?

I have just been browsing through posts on the forum for sending in documents for lifting limits on PP.

Some of the older posts recommend faxing documents but the more recent one emailing...

Also I have a fax machine at work which I could use... has anybody ever been linked from using the same fax number... not sure if its a good idea as all risks of linking should be completely elliminated.

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Faxing is OK but the quality can be so rubbish they can hardly see anything :amen:

It's a tricky one. Do they keep a record of what number each case comes in from?

I've never owned a fax machine, and always use either the local library or stationers that offer the service. I try not to use each one too many times, however if I am using them, of course other people are.

you just use any online fax, you do not need a machine. faxing is recommended.

I just upload the things, as most of the online faxes I found would not work for me, as they all seemed to be free for Americans but you have to pay if you are anyone else.

Not sure I would use a work fax as faxes have all sorts of bumf stamped on them

Different people have different preferences - dont think theres a definivative answer

There is one point though that you mention emailing them.

But I am sure you can't email them, as they do not allow attachments

So you either have to be upload or fax.

Their fax number is not a toll-free one right "iirc"?

How much scrutiny do stealth docs get?

Has anyone uploaded a "bad quality" photocopy of their stealth docs, rather than an upload scan of the actual stealth docs?

I have had some rejected as they couldn't read them properly. I have also had some poor ones accepted. I really didn't want them to read them properly!

oompaloompa 07-20-2011 07:20 AM

yes, good point - sometimes you do not want them to read them clearly, so fax is better, or upload a photocopy alternatively

oompaloompa... You mention free online fax...can you recommend one?

oompaloompa 07-20-2011 08:29 AM

I did not mention free, but yes there are free ones out there. However paying a few pence to send it is neither here nor there for me....
