Your computer IP address has no relevance outside of your router. It it the routers IP that is tracked.

How do you have a fixed IP, what you using Sky?

are you recording the i.p ? one day the i.p will come back round, there is a much better way in your router settings under the advanced tab, you get to change the whole i.p range so the banned i.p cannot show up again.

Depends on many factors like the number of BT clients who might use both t'internet and ebay.

This is NOT the way to be stealth.

You should be recording your IP before you touch an account and have a record.

Please try to understand you might make a mistake and ruin your hard work

IPs don't get banned unless they have been involved with banned accounts. Ebay cannot ban, for example, a BT IP because they get re-cycled.

I keep a check on all of my IPs and use an XL spreadsheet - I can get through 20 or 30 a day and I have never had the same one twice - although I am certain it will happen one day.

It is only static IPs that are a problem

First goto IPBurger or whatsmyip and record the i.p (big number at top of the page)

Now

Just type your defalut gatway ip address in your browsers main address bar

that will bring up your router login screen, enter admin and password details.

advanded tab, continue to advanced settings, home network tab, ip addresses sub tab, Scroll down to the following

DHCP Network Range

the top option should be selected, Now select the second radio button and apply settings.

Now close the pange down and turn off your router for a min, once you restart your router goto IPBurger or whatsmyip and chanck that the i.p address is different, if it is you will have no chance of getting the same i.p as the baned one unless you change the rounter settings again.

If you are using BT I would not stress too much about banned IPs, as said before they rotate so fast ebay could never ban a BT IP. It would just not make sense.
But that may change if they keep loosing customers as fast as they are.

But as to your internal IP it would not matter if ebay could see that, as if your next door neighbor or the whole street have the same router as you then they will have the same LAN IP, as they are just set up for your internal network and do not need to be web friendly.

One point though if you are switching on and off twenty times a day you will find your internet is constantly running slow, as the system will see that as a fault and start running tests on your setup automatically.
It used to play havoc with my sons game playing, as we always did the same. Was always intending to phone them up and see if they could stop it happening but never did.

Do you only have to do this once or everytime you get a new ip?

you do it once for a new range of I.P's

192.168.1.64 - 192.168.1.253 (Default)

172.16.0.64 - 172.16.255.254 (second option)

So with the defalt option you would get i.p's ranging from 192.168.1.64 to 192.168.1.254

Once you select the second option your will get I.P's ranging from 172.16.0.64 to 172.16.255.245

there is also a 3rd custom option

Like that you can run a minimum of 3 accounts without ever having to worry about any i.p's clashing or recording them, if you know how to use the custom option correctly then you can run many more, i just find it one less thing to worry about.
