Limited Once Again

This has been an on going thing for the past 7 or 8 years, I think the longest I had an account was 1 year, and its not that I have done anything wrong which is the thing that annoys me the most, In my time using Paypal and eBay I have never once had a dispute filed against me.

My problem is I am selling or rather was selling high risk items, I started of buying old computers, fixing them up and selling them on at profit, and in recent years its been smart phones, yes they are high risk but my feedback should speak for itself.

First time I was limited they asked me to confirm the usual crap which I did, then they asked for more, which I did, then more and in the end I opened another account, they catch on and I get limited, so I just kept reopening new accounts for years. Few weeks ago I go limited again, this time I sent the ID, proof of address and all the rest and I get the following.

For the safety and security of the PayPal network, we often review
accounts for potential risks. After reviewing your account, we have
decided to close it because of security issues.

So I am at the stage now where I don't know what to do. Any advice please? I'm not booted of eBay just paypal but unfortunately for what I sell you have to offer Paypal

I sell in the same category as you, and unfortunately it seems difficult to get any sort of longevity out of accounts if you sell things like smartphones, as PayPal invariably take an interest a few months down the line simply because of the high value transactions that take place.

What were your DSRs like? Any refunds or closed cases against you? How much money was going through your account?

KingRay 08-06-2011 01:51 AM

Yeah those DSR's are what kills you. look at the dash board and see how many 1's and 2's you have. That will tell us a lot. also like the 2nd poster said. Those are too risky and they see it as a problem

as far as opening account and not getting limited. you need to get the stealth book and read it a few times and start roaming this forum for how to be stealthy on EB/PP. You will need to learn all that before you go any further.

There is a lot that you did wrong on the account details and the book and forum will definitely help you with that. 1st thing though is get the book.

you answered your own question buddy

rsot 08-07-2011 07:48 AM

Not much you can do about it - you make few stealth accounts and revise your business model.

maybe you kept gettin suspended because you was using the same details over and over

could be wrong but you are new to the forum so possible you never knew about stealth

anyways, here is your saviour, stealth guide ,one click away to your future eb ay career

all you need to know and more!

I learned the hard way..as soon as I bought the Stealth Guide, I saw my mistake right away in creating a new account. I am a believer in needing the guide!! I am getting ready to start a new stealth account and thanks to the guide I have a really good chance of keeping it alive for a LONG time. But, also remember that you need to work on those DSR ratings or you will keep getting restricted! Good luck!:pop2:

KingRay 08-07-2011 09:18 PM

Yep, Correct, As soon as you get into the book you will pretty much start seeing everything you have done wrong in the past. You would be surprised at how wrong everything probably was. I was when I first learned of this forum several years ago.

i'm in the category of selling high risk item too.

paypal will subsequently gets shut down after a while, could it be it's the high risk item that is failing us?

ensignia 08-22-2011 08:05 PM

My account was limited the other day and when I phoned PP up he said they were looking at my account to analyse it for risk. I'm not holding out much hope, despite not having any chargebacks, claims or refunds. This is simply because I sell high end cell phones.

The account is 5 months old and in perfect standing, but a couple of payments I've received have gone into review straight away but eventually clear. This is probably one of the reasons why it's been flagged I suppose.

What I don't get is how all the other smartphone sellers avoid getting these permanent limitations and the like? I only sell a couple of phones a week, whereas some sellers seem to have 10 or 15 sales a day. Surely these sellers are getting these types of customers too?
