| enigmajaye | 09-08-2011 10:50 AM | hi clife thank you for responding i had my account limited asked for all my details id invoices etc etc ,completely legitimate account so was not a problem after getting all they asked for .i get an email saying appeal denied ,when i rang them today they said it is because i had too many claims for unauthorized payments ,a total of 12 over the last 6 months when i explained i am the one losing the money everytime and they are charging me Ģ7 for the privelige ,was told can not appeal |
| clife | 09-08-2011 11:32 AM | You are welcome. Now itīs clear. Sorry but i never was in that situation. Heard that many people had and have to deal with that situation and normally nothing can be done as they deny any form of appeal. My advice would be going stealth and maybe changing your behavior regarding payments into your account.
Knowledge of other more experienced members will help you out regarding directions to take i think. |
| Ebayorbust | 09-08-2011 12:31 PM | OP, how can you have 12 instances of someone using your account without permission in the last 6 months? If this isn't what you mean then please explain a bit more. |
Yes sadly that is their decision - not much you can do but move on. Risk is risk. |
| oompaloompa | 09-09-2011 02:33 AM | well why wouldnt they throw you out, they will assume you are keeping your details unsecured or you are a scammer... |
| enigmajaye | 09-09-2011 02:48 AM | hi oompaloompa .sorry i dont think i explained it very well it is people saying that the payments i received were unauthorised the buyers were claiming they had there ebay account hijacked not one of them reported this to ebay 2 of the buyers had bought from me the same items over the last 6 months one buyer had bought 1 item every month for 5 months and then claimed last 2 purchases were made without there knowledge even though i had feedback for all purchases i told ebay twice when i rang 2 of the chargebacks they said they did not know what i was talking about as they got the items ,i did say i was being charged Ģ7 everytime i fought this oompaloompa ,( well why wouldnt they throw you out,) they should not throw me out because i have done nothing wrong they say they do not want my business anymore ,my details are secure and always have been , Thank you for taking the time to reply i do appreciate it |
| oompaloompa | 09-09-2011 12:22 PM | ok you are the seller not the buyer, boy that is unlucky, I only ever had a couple and that is on several accs for several years.....both paypal fought for me and won, so were successful.
Usually a tracked package, signed for by the buyers name, should be enough to fight it.
You are saying the buyer got called and did not know about it? There was feedback? something is not right here.
I would try and appeal it in a formal letter, but in the end usually their reasons for a risky acc, are sometimes vague so they still might not unlimit you, good luck. |
| enigmajaye | 09-10-2011 11:42 AM | hi oompaloompa thanks for getting back to me got to the bottom of it yesterday told by paypal supervisor that the reason is they see my business as risky because i email xbox psn and pc games ,time cards etc from my website and was using mass pay to pay my suppliers this is not what they 1st told me. When i brought up that i had been told it was due to chargebacks was told this was a factor but not the only reason and i can not appeal Time to get creative and read the holy book of aspkins |
| eadirum | 09-10-2011 01:32 PM | Apparently if paypal sees too many claims or chargebacks againt a seller (even if the seller is not doing anything wrong), they just limit the account with no-appeals.
Their reason is that, even if the seller pays up for all those chargebacks etc, apparently buyer has a bad experience and pp's reputation is soiled ...yeah I believe the clean reputation crap :-)
Their argument is, why should one seller see so much of chargebacks if he is doing everything right.
Even if they cant prove anything or understand whats happening.
And of course their T&Cs allow them to f*** the seller any way they want. |
| oompaloompa | 09-12-2011 02:45 PM | chargebacks may be a factor, but you say you email the goods, so are also doing digital delivery? in which case you would have to rethink your goods, particularly if you start new account...maybe a posted item, along with the code or the code or whatever you sell as a free gift with a physical item....
digital stuff probably does put you at a higher risk of chargebacks and disputes generally.. |
Pa yp al hates risks - whoever is at fault and knowing their policies against sellers...you have to hit them with a few accounts and never rely on one to be "forever golden". The problem here is that while you are not at fault (supposedly), chargebacks are bad and a string of them within a short amount of time...h*ll, even I would not want your business if I ran a payment processor...no offense | | All times are GMT -5.
