Linking ebay ID to paypal account - is it a good idea?
 

Hi everyone!

I dont know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, I have just found out about it, but apparently my ebay account isnt linked to my paypal account, why would I need to do this? I mean I currently accept payments from my ebay auctions into my paypal account, plus I pay my ebay fees from my paypal account, I would have thought this meant my ebay and paypal accounts were well and truly linked.

However in my paypal account profile selling preferences it says I can link my ebay ID to my paypal account....? Is there any benefit to doing this? I noticed this as when I went to send an invoice to a buyer I got a message saying that if I printed out my shipping label using ebay / paypal that I could get postage discounts. I already print out my postage labels using paypal but there has never been any mention of discounts before.

I dont know if its something I should do, does anyone understand what it means? Its just you never know if doing something like this could end up with you being suspended for no reason, hence the reason most of us are here!

Anyway sorry to be asking another question, hope someone can help before I make some deadly mistake!

Thats exactly what I thought Mr GTB, but like I said in my paypal profile, seller account options there is an option to link my paypal account to my ebay ID, and at the moment I havent selected that option, all I wanted to know is if its ok to do this? You know what they're like for banning people at the drop of a hat!

Yes I realise this, I wanted to know why it says in my Paypal profile that they arent linked and I wanted to know if there was any pros or cons to choosing to add my ebay id to my paypal profile in the options.

U dont need to link them together , We have a ebay and paypal and they arnt connected and we still pay our fees from paypal. I do a one time payment to pay from paypal but its not connected to ebay.

So I dont need to add my ebay id to my paypal account then? There isnt any advantage to doing this? I realise that my accounts are linked by my paying my ebay fees from paypal and accepting ebay payments into paypal, but it still says I can add my ebay ID to my paypal account....? I wonder why

Hmm, I guess so, I'm not giving them another excuse to suspend me....

I`ve got 7 eBay accounts linked to one PayPal account choice is if you get suspened on one they will all go. Stick to the best advice!
