mac address sky broadband
 

hi guys does anyone know how to change the mac address on sky broadband.
also if i use i dingo do i still need to change the mac address or do i only need to change my mac address if i use my broadband.
as i have lots of dingos i can use

do you mean mac address or ip address? all you need for ebay is ip address change

talking mac address ip am fine as i know the dongle deals with that for me

you can use smac or do it manually but stealth guide says there is no need to change it. possibly if you have been banned and not set up accs yet, you could do it as a precaution though.

are you trying to change your ip range or something by amending mac, thats only other reason I can see to bother with it......

Some sky need to be kick started with smac or technitium <- (No Crock needed), as they have sticky dynamic so not always switching it off and back on give you a new ip,

its more for amazon than ebay but its best to be safe when doing everything so i do not make any school boy errors

it would have helped if you said it was for amazon. There is an amazon section on forum. Yes read the ghost guide. I find titanium too complicated for me, smac is easier, but I think you can do it manually, loads of guides online and youtube

TizWoz - I cannot seem to change my IP with this preset SKY Router.

I have tried SMAC but doesnt let you input a MAC address with the evaluation mode.. any ideas?

go to the setup page for the sky router. then head over to maintenance, once there you will see 'ADSL PORT' info. if your 'network type' says 'MER' then the ip is sticky. it will not change if turned off for 30 secs, or even 2 hours. however, i find that if i leave the sky router off overnight, then turn it back on first thing in the morning i have a new ip. it has not failed me once. hope it helps:)

join now - I tried this procedure of having it left off for 3 hours exactly and it reset to a new IP, then I reset it again last night by leaving it off overnight... a massive pain if your using multiple accounts!

i only tried 2 hours. after that i just left it off overnight and it changes the ip. i dont sell on more than one account so its fine for me. i can understand it being a problem if using multiple accounts.

if your thinking about getting a dongle to switch faster, here is a better idea.

have you ever heard off giff gaff? its a sim card for your phone. pay and go. £10 a month gets you. 250 anytime any network mins. unlimited messages. and unlimited internet.

you can then tether your phone to your pc, have a change of ip whenever you want, and also have free calls, messages and internet on the go... 5 billion times better than a dongle.

Will have a gander at that to be honest sounds a good way to get round this sticky IP situation. All about BT internet changes IP whenever you want, Mrs has it at her house.

out of interest i have a mac now and want to change my IP, as blackberry tethering for mac is too complicated..what is the ways to change my ip otherwise?

what are you using to connect to the internet? broadband through phoneline or cable? it will be no different if you were using a proper computer though:p
