paypal - Verify Identity
 

Hi,

here is my problem. I got my paypal account limited for reason's i dont even know! they just said i broke the rules.

My sister has kindly allowed me to open an account in her name but i am worried about them linking the accounts.

My sister lives in a different address and has never opened a paypal account before.

I opened a business account today and its giving me the usual limits but I want to lift the limits straight away. So i went ahead and tried to lift the limits by confirming the identity but their was a problem. It says my identity could not be verified and i don't understand why. I used all the correct information.

It told me to try again but I thought i would check on here before I do anything else.

Will they link the accounts if i have to fax documents in?

you know what i forgot to clear my cookies. is this a big issue?

It's impossible to say if they will link you becuase we do not know excatly how you have set the accounts up but if done correctly then no they should not link you.


Bad idea to use your sisters details, very bad.

I got my sis address messed up and linked, just prior to when I joined the forum, and I had not acquired the knowledge.
fortunately she moved and she was ok with setting up again. Never stopped talking about it though....I did exactly same as you, got banned and immediately thought what other address can I use..bingo..

.that however was in the days when you got verified by letter or phone pin so more incentive for accessible address, now you get verified differently via docs normally.......

have a good read, there are better alternatives than a relatives address, for obvious reasons....

I agree. You need to go stealth really. Using someone's details can cause trouble later on down the road should a problem arise.

Also, if it says your ientity could not be verified, what this means is that PP have done an online check through various databases and could not find you on those databases. It only allows 2 tries at it before they request docs instead.

Why would it be bad to use my sisters details? their is nothing much i can do about it now is their? haha

also i buy alot stuff from ebay. do you think it would be ok to open a normal paypal without stealth in my own name and address just for buying stuff?

i really cannot stand paypal but at the minute their isn't much alternative. They are trying to be global standard for on-line payments. If this happens what happens to all these people who have had their accounts taken for nothing! they cant just expect them to never use paypal again? even in the future when everybody will only accept paypal.

i wouldn't mind if i actually broke the rules but i don't believe i did and i don't think they know what i did either because they wont tell me! so angry with them.

Try that approach. Your method will slap you in your face. Then you will be angrier.

well my plan now was to start fresh using my sisters details. How can she possibly be linked? they wouldn't even know she is my sister right?

different address, tel number, bank account. Everything is different.

What could they get on me to link me?

why use your sisters details with all the other new info

i just thought that i would of needed a bank account to add to PP and wouldnt be able to get one in a made up name.

does not matter if the bank account name does not match the pp account.......

with some banks it does matter but most are okay

we all learn from our mistakes so

i`ve done the same and am sure many others have too before they knew why you should never use friends and family members info

just remember that if you mess up,its on your sisters head,pay all fees and be aware of tax etc

open new stealth accounts,if you can avoid using the account with your sisters info but it's easier said

well the problem i am facing now is that they are asking to confirm the identity but its now working. its saying they could not confirm it!

Nope. They WILL ask for docs.
