Which paypal account to go for?

Do i choose a sole trader or individual paypal account? Which one is best i want to be selling about 30-40 items a month. Thanks

GTB 01-03-2012 10:51 AM

are you selling on ebay or some other platform?

will you be adding a bank account to pay pal?

how expensive are the items per piece?

philip153 01-03-2012 11:14 AM

re paypal

I will be selling branded clothing on ebay items ranging from £30-£100.

yes i have just added my bank account just need limits raised etc.

GTB 01-03-2012 11:23 AM

ok so 30 items a month at £100 each

that £3000,so you are going to need to unlimit the account

never actually done a business account so cant comment there

but you could manage with a personal aslong as you send in docs etc

sure someone will tell you the pros and cons of business account

Callidus 01-03-2012 12:57 PM

GTB - out of interest to get a quick reply im selling quite a bit over 5 accounts at the moment.. but is premier alright for that or is there red tape or bold writing that says or advises people to have a business account?

Does it reduce the risk of anything have a business account?

GTB 01-03-2012 01:56 PM

not sure bro

Stigger 01-04-2012 12:15 PM

Prem is fine.

personal - for selling you own old things, things you have not intended for resale.

prem - for sole traders, a business but in your own name and liable.

Business - for larger businesses like ltd company - in your chosen name and not liable.

what does this mean tiz

u need to use your real info for a prem account for one reason or another?

GrannyT 01-04-2012 01:13 PM

No - he means it's a sole traders account eg: Knobby Knobrot T/A widgets for you instead of Widgets for You Ltd.

Never EVER put your genuine info into Paypal

Stigger 01-04-2012 01:23 PM

it was just definitions

As GT says, Don't Do it

Ebayorbust 01-04-2012 01:27 PM

Also, don't use Knobby Knobrot as a stealth name either unless you have the docs to back it up. ;)

GrannyT 01-04-2012 01:34 PM

Yes - that's already one of my stealth names - along with Felicity Drenchgusset:grin:

GTB 01-04-2012 01:47 PM

thought that didn't sound right
