Paypal Withdraw 'COMPLETED'

Hi,

I just checked my paypal account, probably avout 4am this morning and it said Paypal Withdrawal Status as 'Completed'.

I have just checked my bank but there is nothing there?

GreenBean 01-17-2012 04:49 AM

Welcome to the forum. :yar:

Usual for paypal to have that comment but no funds in a bank account.

Which bank & what time did you start the transfer?
Thread below is relevant as a background to your question

Hi,

Thanks, the bank is Natwest (First Reserve), and I initiated it about 11am on Saturday (Just gone).

GreenBean 01-17-2012 07:21 AM

Not long enough for the transfer to be thro' yet.

They go thro' in say 3 working days so that excludes weekends. :juggle:

johnnyleeds 01-17-2012 08:05 AM

Ho ho ho! Not this old chestnut again! I wouldnt worry Pamela, it can take days for money to appear, but if it says 'completed' in Paypal instead of 'Pending' thats a pretty good sign its gone through and should be with you pretty soon.

From my experience I've learnt not to expect Paypal to behave like a bank with set limits for certain processed to be completed. They're nothing like that, infact withdrawals can be a pretty random affair.

Also some days I was expecting my money to have transferred into my bank account from Paypal and at 9.30am it still isnt there and I've virtually written off the chance of seeing the money on that day, but then by midday the money is there - whats that all about...?

lol,

I just checked, still nothing...

/

so roughly we are saying Wednesday/Thursday?

JomJarr 01-17-2012 08:59 AM

Did anyone note in the news recently that PayPal refuses to adhere to the new faster payment rules for banks because they say they're not under any UK authority's control?

So all banks now have to transfer money within hours.

PayPal however might phase that in in the summer... if they fancy.

token 01-17-2012 09:04 AM

i just did a transfer from my natwest current account to a friends bank (they are with natwest also) and she told me it will be in their account tomorrow... (but why is this when we are both on natwest...?)

vany 01-17-2012 10:39 AM

Let's hope that pp does that.... It would be nicer to have money on you sooner :)

Stigger 01-17-2012 11:55 AM

i usually transfer sunday night or monday morning and its there on monday and thats with different banks :D got to lovethat fast option once the accounts are in full swing.

token 01-18-2012 05:01 AM

I received this e-mail yeserday at 11.50pm:

We are sorry. We could not complete your request to withdraw funds from your PayPal account to your bank account. We returned the money to your PayPal account.
Request date: Jan 14, 2012 06:04:14 PST
Amount: 1,137.00 GBP
Funds might be returned because:
- The bank account number doesn't exist or is incorrect
- The bank branch listed in your PayPal account does not exist
- Other reasons not specified by the bank

Before you try another withdrawal, please check that you have the right information from your bank and update your PayPal account if necessary.
Please do not reply to this email. This mailbox is not monitored and you will not receive a response. For assistance, log in to your PayPal account and click the Help link in the top right corner of any PayPal page.

But it said completed... so now whos end would this of failed at?

Again the account I used was a Natwest First Reserve to send the money to.

Christianm 01-18-2012 10:57 AM

Is the bank acc confirmed ? did you withdraw it on the 5 pounds quick withdrawal?

token 01-18-2012 11:06 AM

the bank account was not confirmed, as the account was limited, then i received an e-mail saying i can withdraw... so i just got any new first reserve account and added it to paypal...

i have now added my friends and sent the deposits to their account as well as requesting for the withdrawal again.

/

yes I withdrew it on the £5 faster payment service.

aking 01-18-2012 12:15 PM

for me its 24 hrs after it says completed it shows in my bank account, but im sure that varies depending on the bank, country, etc. Usually 3 days total from initiating the withdraw.

token 01-18-2012 02:50 PM

do you think it got kicked back because the account was not confirmed or because it was a first reserve account or because the paypal name does not match my bank account name?

Christianm 01-18-2012 02:59 PM

right its because you did it on the fast payment it will not work on a limited account , you need to do it on the 2-3 days it will complete no problem. ive had the same with 7k last week and i was panicking it was because i had withdrawn it on the 5 pound it wont work and will say complete then 3-4 days later it gets reversed and says bank account sent you payment of £xxxxx correct eh? do it on the 2-3 day.

just to add it was even a savings account and it worked for a 1 time withdrawal from my limited account of 1 year!!

johnnyleeds 01-18-2012 03:50 PM

Pamela what do you mean the Paypal account is limited? Do you mean that you've been suspended or something? Also you should have confirmed your bank with Paypal as its part of the verification process, all you need to do is submit the direct debit form then when paypal make 2 small deposits you enter the amounts as a code to confirm your bank details.

I would imagine that this might be the reason your transfer hasnt gone through. Although in the past I tried an account with Paypal where the same as whats happening to you happened, I got the 'completed' message next to the Paypal transfer, the money DID transfer into the bank account, yet the next day I too received the message from Paypal saying that the bank account was invalid - even though the transfer had already gone through!!

But then even though the transfer had worked they then wouldnt let me add the same bank account to Paypal as it kept saying I'd previously tried this account and it hadnt worked so they suggested I try adding an alternative bank account. How many bank accounts do they think we have?!

token 01-18-2012 06:25 PM

so the £5 transfer wont work?

yes my paypal account was limited... i dont know where my sort code and account number went, but when i logged into my paypal account it wasnt there. (it still said my account was verified though)

so it said i can withdraw funds, so i just quickly made a first reserve, added it to paypal and then waited...

GreenBean 01-18-2012 06:34 PM

Wow. How to waste time

Didn't cross your mind to say from the start the account was limited? Sighs.

Sometimes paypal say the funds are available but then cancel.

Have you checked if the bank rejected this or paypal?

:spy:

Christianm 01-18-2012 07:47 PM

if its limited you will always get the funds 100% either via withdrawal to bank, or they will authorise it to another paypal last resort. That shouldnt be needed if you have a unsed bank spare or savings.

johnnyleeds 01-18-2012 09:20 PM

Its not really making sense what you are saying here Pamela, for starters I dont know what you mean by your Paypal account was 'limited', then you are saying your Paypal account was verified, which usually means there is a confirmed bank account added, now you are saying you went and 'quickly' added another first reserve bank account to Paypal.

A first reserve account is a savings account isnt it? I dont think they work well with paypal so they might reject the account, but what was wrong with the account you used to verify your Paypal account?

Before you start trying to do transfers from Paypal to your bank account you really need to have that account confirmed otherwise complications are bound to arise.

Its a bit confusing understanding what you're trying to say so I cant really give you an totally correct answer...

Christianm 01-19-2012 07:23 AM

Her paypal is limited you can use any account savings current it dosent matter just cant withdraw on the fast withdrawal, it dosent need confirming if its past the 45/180 days.
It bounced back because shes done the fast withdrawal.

Haven't checked that. I should call my bank and ask them did you refuse a payment from paypal?

token 01-19-2012 12:38 PM

this is how it is.

1) i previously had "this" paypal account.

2) it got limited more than 180 days ago.

3) i received an e-mail from paypal a few days ago saying "i am now entitled to withdraw my funds".

4) i had no accounts spare, so i made one with natwest online "first reserve"

5) added that info into paypal.

6) tuesday i get an e-mail saying it was unsuccessful due to my bank, there could be many reasons, blah blah blah...

7) i have now added my friends natwest "current" account to see if that will work, as well as requesting for the verification deposits to be sent to the "current" account for it to also be confirmed...

johnnyleeds 01-19-2012 01:37 PM

i dont know then, if all you want is to take remaining funds from account why cant you use the original bank account that you confirmed the paypal account with. Likesay in the UK as far as I know savings accounts arent compatible with Paypal which could be the problem, different rules apply in other countries so ChristianM could be wrong.

token 01-19-2012 01:53 PM

when i logged into the account a few days ago, the acccount "which was confirmed beforehand" was not there/it was not listed... that is why i made a new account and added it to paypal to withdraw the funds.

johnnyleeds 01-19-2012 06:58 PM

Why didnt you just add the same bank account that you'd previously? Did they say that account was invalid or something? If you are going to lose this paypal account anyway it seems pointless wasting new bank accounts just to withdraw whatever funds you have left in the paypal account.

Stigger 01-20-2012 02:29 AM

Last time i was limited for 180 days i did not bother confirming the account, i just added another account and withdrew.

Do you have to confirm that account now, dont see the point if it your farewell withdrawel

Did you ring the bank and ask them if it was them that refunsed the money and why ?

If it was the bank due to name difference i would have just tried again with the same account, it usually works.

Also cristianM has writen another option for you.

token 01-24-2012 08:05 AM

i have just logged into my paypal account, and I can see that my money has been reversed back (AGAIN) to my paypal account... (even though i sent it to a current account).

I will now go ahead and try christianm's theory to see if the 2-3 day withdraw works...

ApotteIntek 01-24-2012 10:01 AM

There are no issues withdrawing to an unconfirmed NW 1st Res account, I use one and have had no problems.

slapped 01-24-2012 10:12 AM

MaKE 100% SURE that the attached bank account can accept ACH Transfers

rsot 01-24-2012 11:04 AM

Exactly as Slapped said - make sure direct deposit option (or equivalent) is doable.

it only took 2 days

pamela12 01-31-2012 03:09 AM

I did the normal 2-3 days withdrawal on wednesday 25th January.

As of now, I am still waiting for the money to be credited to my account...

pamela12 01-31-2012 03:14 AM

edit,

just checked my account and it has finally arrived.

it took (excluding the weekend 4 DAYS... in total 6 days...)

dave321 01-31-2012 09:04 AM

pleased you got it.

I had similar problem with my genuine business account, fast withdrawal would never work my bank and PP did not know why but the slow boat withdrawal could sometimes take 7 days to arrive.
