| | | jumba | 03-12-2012 06:10 AM | ebay is full of fraudsters my latest one is such a fraudster. bought a vintage jacket off me for £30. a day later asked for a refund (not snad) just a refund and wanted to keep the jacket! i refused. then they filed for a snad, i told them if they returned it then they could have a refund. no item showed up, time passed and ebay closed the case and found in favour of me. today i see they have now opened a reversal and are claiming unauthorised issues, as in someone else using their card to buy things!!
well i have the receipt and the tracking, the tracking shows no sig even though they claim they received it so all i can do is scan in the receipt. probably wont get me v far since RM failed to collect a signature!! but still. am sick of constant fraudsters on there, i get about 1 in 20 try this on every week.
I should also point out they paid with an echeque and i saw it said ineligable? what would this mean in terms of them winning this? |
echeaque is basically. When you don`t have enough funds in your paypal and you comet to buy something. Then PP requests your bank to authorised the payment and it normaly can take 21 days or so.
I guess when you send something through RM and when its signed for or something except standard. You could put a claim against them. But I guess they probably ague that the item was delivered but infact if you send the item signed for the only reason of you doing that was to get to know who really signed it!!!! |
| BiN4RY | 03-12-2012 10:37 AM | For a 30 GBP item, signature isn't nessesary as long as the item is tracked. eCheck payments often says ineligible when it isn't cleared. It should change afterwards. |
Yeap when it get cleared then it does. |
| GrannyT | 03-12-2012 10:40 AM | Not only is Ebay full of fraudsters Swansea prison is full of thieves
Bit of an obvious statement really OP
Sorry to hear of your problem though |
| oompaloompa | 03-12-2012 02:40 PM | just re-read this.......
you can try and fight a chargeback under unauth catagory by providing all tracking receipts and any correspondence from buyer. I lost one recently and I was furious, all my evidence was ignored. Paypal ought to pass this on to card company and fight it harder but they do not. |
| Bunneh | 03-12-2012 02:49 PM | First of all you say the buyer has confirmed he has received the jacket,
So you are covered. You are also covered since you have posted the item, the proof of delivery is fine, even without a signature showing since it will show his address & postcode on the royal mail/post office receipt.
You have all your correspondence which you can use as evidence against the buyer.
The fact that he has confirmed receipt and now has filed a charge back for the item IS FRAUD. Supply the card company & paypal ( since the chargeback will have a case open in paypal) with all the tracking and correspondence information.
I am glad ebay chose in your favour with the SNAD case, that doesn't happen to often.
What is the reason he wants a refund and refuses to return the item to you? |
| clapclap | 03-12-2012 04:35 PM | It seems you have a total wa££er of a buyer on your hands there and i really do feel
sorry for you because altho they dont come very often when they do you feel like
knocking on there door and asking what there problem is. Im afraid buyers like that lose
their touch on reality and forget there is a person selling on the other end. |
| eBay King | 03-12-2012 10:06 PM | Buyers who do that are dirty tramps.
They should never be issued with credit cards and buy items using cash in a store only.
Disgrace. |
Buyers on ebay must think there's a merchandise tree that we go to, to pick out our merchandise. Unfortunately mine is really far away, lol. |
| Gamefreak | 03-12-2012 11:06 PM | Another reason I prefer amazon, they usually refund the buyer in such cases out of pocket (their pocket) unlike paypal who will take it out on the seller. |

They tried to charge my credit card once but it was a gift card with no funds. |

The buyer does not need a reason to return it, Distance selling regulations state that its up to the seller to collect or have the item collected.
that's why catalogues and mail order company's have free returns or even collect.
Even though this does not happen now on eby, as sellers we should dread the day it really starts to happen and buyers are aware of this fact |
| jumba | 03-13-2012 04:42 AM | well initially they sent an echeque which im also very wary of, so i waited 21 days until it cleared. sent the item tracked just incase. She then filed for a refund wanting to keep it, then snad and then tried an anauthrised chargeback which yes is fraud since nobody used her card anauthorised. some of them are just total chancers.
anyway pp sent me this today so i can finally say this is the first time ive had dealings with pp and they've had their brain screwed on and can see through a fraudulent buyer. God knows how many times this person tries to do this per week but instead of banning sellers left right and centre, how about they start banning fraudulent buyers as well. Keep all receipts for at least 6 months guys, i always do these days as you just never know who is out so screw you over next. We have completed our investigation of the transaction below and were unable to find evidence of unauthorised access to the buyer’s account. Thiscase was refused to the buyer and no funds were recovered from your account |

Even though the amount is small, it is the principle at the end of the day.
What goes around, comes around! |
That is a good resolution. Side note: Az is much worse. |

However isn't this guy refusing to send it back and wants his money back aswell. In my eyes that is fraud and has nothing to do with DSR. |
| jumba | 03-13-2012 02:18 PM | I guess i was lucky and just followed the instructions and for the first time ever someone with a brain must have dealt with the case!! :) |
| ulsterbeef | 03-13-2012 02:52 PM | I dont think my last reply sent so I am trying again. If it reappears, admin can delete. I have had the conman treatment too. I sold an item which cost F all. Postage cost more than what the item cost. The buyer sent a message asking me to send asap as they needed it for the next day. Next day comes, surprise surprise, I get a message, no item. I didnt send it recorded so..... They didnt want a replacement of course as they already had what they wanted.
A few weeks later I get a message from the samebuyer asking where is the item. It was meant for someone else. Total ****** |
| Thankful | 03-13-2012 02:56 PM | Cheeky buggers they are! |
tanxful whatcha talkin' bout |
| Thankful | 03-13-2012 03:21 PM | I'm talkin about that british clown who tried the scam the jacket off him :boink: |
Ah I see. Getting long there. |
| oompaloompa | 03-14-2012 04:15 AM | I had paypal fight 2 low price chargebacks and win....but most recent high value one, the buyer got away with it....they could not do SNAD as they were out of time, so they did unauth chargeback instead, probably cos they knew they could not do non receipt due to tracking. | | All times are GMT -5.
