Lifting the 100 items or 3500+ any other methods?

Been reading through and searching, i'm aware ebay now I can lift your 10 item limit if your hitting your limits every month with good f/b and following policy.

But i want to know does same apply on lifting the 100items/3500 limit on ebay? i know i can request for them to lift limits however is there another way? perhaps hitting your 100 limits every month with no policy warnings and high stars would this also lift the limts guys?

Yeh I think you are correct there... make sure you hit the limits OR hit the £3500 every month.

If you don't hit the limits you're right why would they need to be lifted?

Fine line to walk that one.

Sell too much too quickly on a relatively new account and you can end up with static limits or even worse have them reduced.

Its really more to do with what you sell, not how much i.e. RISK

I understand, thanks, my items are not even close to risk items, it's mainly stationary stuff, but i've had the account for 5 months now, and i'm still getting the 100 limit even though i have a very good track record right now 4.9+ DSRs, no warnings or nothing/ verified p/p everything!

can anyone confirm they've had their limits lifted with just a good track record alone? it's been 5 months, i wonder how long it will take.

Its got to be what you are selling. I have a couple competitors that I noticed recently that have gotten new accounts after old ones have been lost for what ever reason. One of them has a 120 feedback sofar and he registered on the 3rd of march.

Its the business/industrial category though so maybe that is an easier way to go. He sells items that range from $20 - $350 so I know he cant have a limit on his account.

The other has a 45 or so feedback and its been just under a month since he registered. Same deal there, about the same price range, maybe a little less.

I dug deep and noticed that they have 3 older accounts that were suspended and figured out what they are doing. One even gave himself feedback on an old account and still isnt getting caught. You can say he will eventually but some of his older accounts took years to get suspended but not sure the reason.

If your account is in good standing, upon calling ebay they will increase your limits right away, even for a new account, as long as they can verify your account over the phone with 3-4 security questions, probably from your credit report. Otherwise your SELLING history got to be 90 days old to get higher limits.

No, not always.

If it is a business account their logic is different.

I have never had a problem with limits being raised on business accounts, in fact they have even raised them automatically mid month if I have been getting near the limit.

Dont forget the 1st post is from a user in the UK.

There are differences in the limits & their application.

I understand. But as far as having the limit, personal and business accounts are the same although another member above is saying business accounts are kind of different.

Not in the UK

They seem to be less stringent with business sellers depending on what you are selling of course.

I have business accounts that have had initial limits of 100 which have been raised automatically mid month to over 300 and I have also had some where there have been no limits from the outset.

On the flip side every personal account has had selling limits from day one and only increased when track record established

They are not the same because one is business and the other is private and they have different parameters set by e/b for determining listing limits.

As GT says it's a new account and it's in the US not UK

The whole point that posters have been trying to point out to you is that UK accounts are not the same as US accounts when it comes to listing limits on business accounts

Accounts being different in different categories or in different countries is a given. Question is: how different. I guess I'll find it out down the road.
