ebay account-selling restriction

Hi just recently (about a month ago) my ebay account(3 years old) has been restricted from selling.

This is the message they gave me:

"Hello Haseeb,

My name is Mark, thanks for contacting us in relation to the selling restriction you are experiencing.

I would like to inform you after careful consideration we have restricted your account indefinitely from listing in all categories.

When reviewing accounts for category restrictions, we consider several factors, including:

-- A minimum of 90 days of consistent selling history for similar types of items or categories
-- Positive selling Feedback
-- Any Feedback that questions the authenticity of your items
-- Unresolved disputes with buyers
-- Compliance with eBay policies
-- Previous account suspensions or eBay policy violations
-- Whether your account is in good standing

You may continue using your account for buying purposes.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Kind Regards

Mark Irish

eBay Trust and Safety"

Today i recieved another message from them:

"Your seller performance is below standard under the global seller performance standards programme.

We noticed that you've improved your seller performance--that's great news. However, you'll need to continue improving to avoid limitations.

Based on your ratings, we recommend that you focus on writing better item descriptions in your listings, and communicating promptly and professionally.

Writing better item descriptions for your listings
Buyers rely on the information in your listing description to decide whether and how much to bid or buy. To better manage their expectations:
- Write simple and clear descriptions, with no misleading or conflicting information.
- Use original rather than stock photos.
- Provide details regarding the condition of the item, and explain any defects or flaws fully.

Learn more about how to improve your ratings with better item descriptions.

Communicating promptly and professionally
By keeping in touch with your buyers and maintaining a positive and professional tone, you can resolve many concerns before they become problems.
- Make sure that your listing doesn't discourage buyers from contacting you.
- Respond promptly to all questions or concerns.
- Update your buyers on the status of their purchases.

Learn more about improving your ratings with better communication."

Do you guys think that i can get this account reinstated?

Try to deal with live chat or call up eb - I would say chances are low right now though.

This is why you should never contact e/b asking to have selling limits increased.

No the account won't be reinstated, that a standard auto email. it means nothing now.

Had you waited it out and not asked for an increase you would probably still have the account to sell on as you were heading in the right direction,

Some folks need to learn the hard way I suppose

Ah I missed that - haseeb you went ahead and contacted eb on your new account - yeah it's done =(

haseeb 04-04-2012 10:35 AM

with this account i didnt ask for my selling limits to be increased. i think i had high listing limits. the restriction happened all of a sudden. also i had quite a few negs on the account and some low dsr's. could these be the reason of restriction?

NoneOther 04-04-2012 11:04 AM

Selling limits or restrictions it doesn't really matter.

The end result was the same......you lost the account when you didn't have to.

All because you contacted them, it clearly says so in the copy of their email you posted

As NoneOther stated...sadly the truth hurts but you learn from experience. Not much to be done - keep pressing at live chat or e-mail or call but it seems a waste of time.

Did any one leave bad feedback because of the authenticity of your items? this might be the case

yes i think this could be the reason.

Good catch 2011trapstar - yes haseeb your account seems too messed up now. You might have lasted longer without contacting eb but never know - ax could have come down later down. Time for stealth.

i just have been in contact with ebay and they said that i was restricted in selling because i had low DSR's. the ebay person said to me that if in my next evaluation my DSR's are at an acceptable level then the restriction will be lifted.

has anyone else experienced this?

NoneOther 04-06-2012 03:18 PM

After an indefinite selling restriction email, no.

I honestly doubt very much that the account will be reinstated to be able to sell on it again.

It won't happen automatically and when you contact them again they'll ask you to submit an appeal and then they'll decline it............and so on, and so on.

Make new accounts and move on.

Has been mentioned.

One seller never got the account back.(Could only use to buy on it).

Other seller got chopped on their next evaluation.

3rd seller waited 12 months & got 5 items a month to sell limit.

Moral of post?

You have a sick account. ebay are not going to let you do a lot to repair it (if anything at all).

Look at making more accounts.

But most importantly, re-do your business plan. No-one sould allow low dsrs to damage accounts. Something was being done very badly.:rip:

Sort the problems. They exist that's for sure. Move on then:mod:

Can you give me the links to those threads? My account is in already below standard. Tomorrow will be my next evaluation and its still below standard. Will they give me another month to pull it up or what? Anybody know? I'm thinking to close the account if they're going to limit me.

Just do whats been said in the email and by this rep.

the accounts not dead and they are couple of things you can do to try and pull the dsr back in to line.

Dont list the things you have bad feedback for , answer and post propmtly.

You can list for a loss with free postage to try and get good feedback.
