Paypal limited but still trading on ebay

Don't know how long this will last but my PayPal account was permanently limited some 10 days ago now. My listings are still on eBay & I am continuing to sell just as many items.
Buyers get a message from PayPal saying payments to my account are not possible at this time.
I send an e mail to the customer saying we are in dispute with PayPal at the moment & give them the opertunity of canceling the order or of our sending them an invoice through Google Checkout.
About 25% of buyers acept the Google Checkout option the rest cancel. I'd rather have 25% than none.
Don't know how long they will allow this but I'll keep it going & milk it for whatever I can & continue with my other accounts. Anyone got any ideas?

Try Moneyb ookers - another accepted eb ay payment method - that's one idea. Or you can invoice from a new stealth pp but that may go down due to linkage.

I had one e/b account last 10 months but getting payments sent to another p/p account which surprisingly is still up and running but they did shut the e/b account down eventually.

I don't think your e/b account will last too long the way you are doing it as e/b will definitely be suspicious of 75% of your sales not completing.

There are better solutions.

If i have payments go to another paypal account presumably it must be in the name of the eBay account, which is the same as the PayPal account that has been limited, so wouldn't that new PayPal account get linked to the old one & also get limited?

No, not necessarily but you do run the risk of losing both accounts.

Your e/b account is on borrowed time anyway and if you get payments sent to another p/p then that will probably die to.

It's a risk but depends on how much you want to keep the e/b account running until the inevitable happens

But as you are now it will die sooner rather than later, most likely a buyer will report you for doing what you are currently.

Point taken. Damned if you do & damned if you don't. Just a matter of time either way really

What was the reason for paypal limiting your account?

motorwool 04-13-2012 03:43 AM

I'm on the borrowed time thing also....ebay account linked to a paypal account with a different name. eventually they will shut them both down but both the paypal and ebay account have excellent history and they make let me go for awhile. in other words they shut the ebay down on one account and the paypal down on another. so, I linked them together. all good so far, but I know they will kick them soon.

As long as you work with that concept motorwool, all the better reason to make new stealth accounts and build them.
