Santander (i know, i know) + paypal. withdrawal problem.
 

hi, first post here.

i've never had a problem withdrawing funds from paypal to my santander account but this time i have. (i know santander suck but i was with alliance leicester before the santander takeover)

Anyway, i withdrew some funds from paypal to my santander account and its been 7 business days and still nothing has appeared in my bank account. I've never had this problem before, it usually takes 2-4 business days with this account. It said completed long ago (after day 1 i think) my paypal balance is now £0.00 becasue i only had a small amount in it (i rarely leave funds as paypal balance) so the funds must be somewhere?

Now i'm having another problem becasue i owe someone a refund, but i don't want to pump more money through paypal until this withdrawal is sorted incase they are stealing my money...i wouldnt put it past them. I hope the person i now owe understands this.

The missing amount is only £15 but its the principle of the thing, im not giving it to paypal!

Can you tell me what day and what time of that day, you started the transfer?
I would like to check if it is actually 7 (real) business days.

Some banks were slower last week. I had transactions done on Tuesday 17th that were delayed. Hopefully that may be a reason for you also.

Hmmm have you actually ever withdraw money to this bank account before? And why do you owe someone money? Is that from a chargeback/dispute?

it was sent on the 17th of april, it said compleated since the 17th or 18th. ive always used this santander account with ebay/paypal without problems. I just owe someone a refund from the 24th for a item on ebay, i dont think it will affect my withdwawal as they have not put in a claim, i told them i will send it as soon as i get this withdrawal sorted, which i think they understand. I just hope they don't put in a dispute yet until this is sorted out.

You should always leave funds in your paypal balance enough for refunds etc

i didnt really expect to be giving a refund, ill sort it. thats a seperate issue anyway.
i just want to know why its compleated but i still dont have it. im putting no more money into paypal until i know where my other money is becasue i dont trust them. its only a fiver refund.

I have a feeling that the funds not showing up in your bank account from your paypal account which has a customer refund issue on it is the very likely issue as to why the funds have not appeared in your bank account; even if it says transaction completed on your paypal account.

I'll hedge my bet & say them two issues are interlinked at some level.

Been using Santander for over 12 months (current account) & A & L similar (business account) with no problems so far
