New verification system?
 

I noticed last night when I accessed one of my stealth accounts from a new IP ebay.co.uk immediately forced me through telephone verification again! It also provided a tick box to say this is a 'shared computer only verify me for this session'.

Is this a new process? Are we going to keep getting telephone verified instead of just once at account creation time?? This could obviously be problematic for purchased stealth accounts.

if it was a "different" pc this is normal

was there not a choice of pin to email? because phone or pin is usually as said above if there are no cookies detected....

if it was a phone verification only, then that is seperate type of verification that can happen but it is usually for some flagged reason, not necessarily serious an overcome with the phone call but still not ususal.....

No it was phone only, didn't offer a choice. Fortunately I had that voip number forwarded to my mobile so it wasn't an obstacle.

The real question in raised in my mind was if eBay are going to start verifying you when your IP changes, is there any point to buying verified accounts unless you buy access to the IP it was opened with at same time? (Or forwardable voip/sim?)

Do you delete your cookies? Could be problematic if you do....

certainly doubt ip change would prompt it

They would have to verify practically every account holder several times a day if it was prompted by an IP change.

This is usually a cookie related issue as has been mentioned before or there are other issues that have been flagged on the account.

Definitely not IP imo.
