what services do you guys all use and how much do they cost?

Someone tells you what forwarding company they use. You then set up a pp account using that address. Somewhere down the line your account gets axed. What is likely to happen to the person's account that gave you the info??

that makes sense but isnt it a bad idea to use po boxes full stop then? its pretty naive to think that you'd be the only ebay/paypal user using such a po box.

maybe po boxes are a bad idea then.

PO Boxes, bad idea? Yes.

Virtual mail boxes, bad idea? No

As Ebayorbust has already said not many folks are going to share that sort of info.
