Ebay ask for ID

I have made many stealth accs and all are going well , some over 12mths. I have read the stealth guide top to bottom many times but all of a sudden I make a new stealth acc, buy on it browse etc then 2 weeks later I try and sell and ebay remove the listing and ask me to verify ID and address. I know everything regarding stealth is correct so im just wondering is this a new eBay policy???? that they need to confirm ID with every new member?........surely not it would take them forever!!........if not then clearly i've made a rookie mistake somwhere or should of waited even longer to sell, but 2 weeks is usualy fine, maybe a month then.

The item i listed was just a dvd

Thanks for reading

They've been doing this lately to my PayPal accounts.
It has to be something new for both PayPal and eBay.

So whats the way around this? how many items can you sell without being hit by this?

arronb2009 06-07-2012 02:28 PM

I cant remember the notice due to deleting the email, but within an hour of listing my first item on the new acc it got hit with "please supply us with ID and proof of address, you can not bid or sell untill proof has been shown"

But being a stealth acc its a bit hard for me to do so, so thats that!

I cant see them doing this with every single user that joins ebay! , they would have to confirm 1000s daily due to the confirmation being done by human and not computer.

I must of made a mistake.

hmmm you sure you didn't trigger it somehow?
