Virtual Telephone number

Do PP/Eb accept these?

I have for a couple of free ones, one starts 05 and the other is 0844. Would these be accepted?

SOHO66...£2 a month.....no your number sound odd. Get a proper one from these guys....plus you can choose a code that's corresponds with you area.

easy and straightforward

J1mgg 06-14-2012 02:24 PM

Thanks, I have just went a head and done this at £2 it isnt that much really.

myfriday09 06-14-2012 02:45 PM

I use virtual numbers all the time on ebay and paypal.

London1234 06-15-2012 06:20 AM

One thing i forgot to add. Although you can open an account with Soho66 and get a number for £2 a month you need to up load £5 credit otherwise the rerouting won't work. Just upload a fiver on there and it should be fine to cover all your numbers for a bit. I don't presume you're going/planning to be receiving many calls to the number anyway.

But add credit before you use it to verify things/etc...apologies.

I don't understand why people use Soho. With 40 accounts i was spending over 80 quid a month. Look around.. there are free alternatives.

J1mgg 06-16-2012 03:09 AM

The free alternatives I saw were giving me numbers at the top, if a PP or EB was to review your account I would of thought that would set alarm bells ringing. Plus £2 isn't much if it is helping you sell on EB

London1234 06-16-2012 04:46 AM

Exactly, big picture. What's the relative out lay in terms of percentage cost if you have 40 active, successful accounts? I assume you have so many accounts because you're selling and then having to stop with the 1900 or rathe 1500~ limit. 2/1500 = 0.13%....0.13% to not have some dodgy number? I think that's worth it.

However, i may be wrong and you may be able to get good numbers (area-specific) for free....but why a free lunch? No doubt the re routing costs will be sky high? If not, do tell.

use a mobile sim card. they cost £0.00.

end of story.

johnnyleeds 06-17-2012 06:51 PM

isnt this issue irrelevant now? I used to use a company called sipgate, but for my new accounts i just use a mobile number and they work fine.

Hi, Do you not have to top up a sim card to activate it so it can get incoming calls, and will it not cease after 3 months?

Thanks

Jim

johnnyleeds 06-18-2012 08:18 AM

I have a different mobile phone numbers I use for my ebay accounts, you can use different SIM cards if you have an unlocked phone. I just activate new GiffGaff SIM cards as for each one I activate I get £5 FREE credit added to the new SIM after I buy the first £10 top up, then I get £5 FREE credit added to my own GiffGaff account for each SIM I activate - so thats £10 FREE credit for every £10 I buy, then I just use the SIM card in the phone when verifying the EBay / Paypal account. As long as you make / receive the odd phone call every few months the phone number doesnt get deactivated. Plus if you ever need to call ebay / paypal or any of your customers you can use the SIM card you have registered, and the extra credit always comes in handy when I've run low on minutes on my personal mobile phone. Anyway thats how I do it and it seems to work ok.

If anyone wants any FREE GiffGaff SIM Cards with £5 FREE credit added once you've activated the card by purchasing your first months £10 top up I can send them to you and your friends / family FREE OF CHARGE! Just message me with your name / address and email and I'll have the SIM cards posted to you ASAP.

For £10 per month I get 250 anytime / any network minutes, UNLIMITED texts and UNLIMITED mobile internet plus calls to other people on GiffGaff are FREE plus calls to 0800 numbers are FREE - a lot of mobile networks still charge 40p+ per minute to call 0800 numbers which can make calling Npower etc a costly affair, especially if you end up in an automated queuing system.

Killuminati 06-20-2012 11:25 AM

@ johnnyleeds Do you have a mobile and sim for each account or do you just use it for verifying ebay?

What if ebay calls you and the number is not working ?

London1234 06-20-2012 06:22 PM

exactly - 10 numbers safely needs 10 phones, or 10 number forwarded to one phone....soho66....much safer. Never miss a call

crafty1 06-20-2012 06:35 PM

If EB or PP call you don't have to answer the phone straight away, as long as you call them back within a reasonable time (24hrs) can't see any problem.

Phone them back apologise for the missed call and give some excuse why you didn't answer the phone.
