| | | J4G3D | 06-23-2012 07:11 AM | Calling ebay to 'discuss goals' (UK) So there is a new rule, to become a business seller you have to call ebay to discuss your goals to get your limits lifted.
Can anyone care to explain to me exactly what they ask?
Reason i ask is after 12 years i got suspended from ebay FOR NO REASON. They froze 5k of my money in paypal which i got back the other day. I have since decided I NEED ebay for my type of business and i got my wife to register in her name, new paypal..ect.
So my wife has to call to 'discuss selling goals'. And she doesnt know anything about selling, anything about ebay or paypal. So i need to get it right.
Someone please advise. |

| You mean that you/your wife have setup a business PP A/C where you want the receiving/selling limits lifted from ???
What steps or actions did you/your wife take in regards to this PP A/C prior to this request from PP to call them ???
EB would have given some sort of explanation, even if generic for the suspension.....there would have been a reason for it. What coding notices & messages did EB send you ???
Not a good idea nor necessary to get your wife involved into this.
Please clarify.

| Elijah | 06-23-2012 08:35 AM | He is talking about eBay... when you want to raise selling limits from 100/£3500 they ask you to change over to a business account and call them. That is all. |
I stand corrected in that the Op means a call to EB to discuss this. |
| oompaloompa | 06-23-2012 09:00 AM | she will have to call up, explain to her what to say....
or get a voice changing software and speak to them yourself. |

Are you sure your wife has to ring them ?
Reason i ask is because i never do and still get my limits raised easily.
Just try and list passed the limit every month and you should see them raised every month thats how its working for me anyway.
Slow for the first 3 months the trick is to get the 15000 limit list a good few low value items and a couple of high value and as you limits get raised list more high value, that way the limits get raised in bigger chunks, especially is the ones you list sell, ebay love that. |
| cortex | 06-23-2012 01:04 PM | I agree with TizWoz...this is a good way to have limits raised, especially if you're in the predicament of not knowing what to say to ebay.
On the other hand, if you are a confident speaker/social engineer then calling them is not a major problem. Ive had limits raised on a few accounts this way.
Good luck! |

Are you aware you might accidently be linking yourself to your limited paypal?
Might be better to address that B4 you start worrying about talking to ebay :spy: |

!: Supplier name and contact (website, phone number etc)
2: How long you intend on selling these items for
3: How many you plan to sell per month
They then evaluate your account and take into consideration:
1: Feedback (any negs etc)
2: Buyer complaints
3: How long the accounts been open for
4: Verified paypal etc
Take note that your wife will have to be VERY nice and polite for them to even consider raising the limits on an account that is under 90 days old.
Apart from that its a doddle, I have done this for ages on many accounts
Good luck! |

for example you 100 selling will be raised to 140 item.
its best to call them ,and be ready for all the question they ask. |
| geoxshock | 06-26-2012 04:44 AM | i have called recently, was on the phone for about 5 minutes to them.
no problem at all, just have a plan and your story straight.
limits raised significantly. |
| soldier | 06-26-2012 05:08 AM | does anyone know if they actually check the supplier details given to them, as in they contact the supplier to see if what you are saying is true? |
| GREEN LION | 06-26-2012 06:07 AM | They just check If the Product actually exist or not, so they just check the website and the item you tell ebay you want to Resell.
No they dont check supplier details, you might buy the same item from different suppliers. |

Good luck! | Thanks for that.
Our account is a business account. 6 months old. Sold 20 items (i need to sort that out i know). Paypal is attached and all verified.
Our accounts are all legit (not stealth). But last time we called ebay, ebay reckon my wifes DOB was wrong. So now im a bit worried calling again. I think i will go down the listing auctions route. And start from today.
I normally sell £750 items a time. But i can sell 99p items too. Thinking to advertise 3 of the £750 items and make up the rest of items with 99p ones.
Please tell me if i am doing it wrong. I had been on ebay (in my name) for 7 years before this account which got banned due to to many policy breaches. |
Hi,
You can call eB yourself with your wife siting next to you, they will ask to speak to the account owner to verify the account then your wife can do this and ask that the business is discussed with you as she is just your accountant or whatever you like. They will then be happy to discuss the other things with you.
Have all the normal info written down in front of you such as address, secret questions, dob etc just incase you slip up.
This works as i did it yesterday.
