Using real name but everything else different?
 

So, how long would an account last (on EB and/or PP) using my real name, but everything else being different? I'd have access to the address, could get the account verified (both through deposits to bank and through a debit/credit card) and all ID would pass if needed. And before you ask "why not buy a VCC account from one of the sellers" I'm just exploring all avenues before I part company with my hard-earned cash.

If done properly, yes it can work. I actually did the same, used my real name...different address, IP, etc. and so far It's fine...I will point out that I only opened this account for buying only.

this is for selling (but possibly buying too seeing as i'll access to the address). it's been at least a year, possibly 18 months, since my EB & PP accounts were banned with my genuine details (though the only genuine details i'll be using is my name)

Google your name or go into Facebook and search your name. It would be very unusual if you were unique (There are thousands with the same name as me)

Where it ties in is if your name is Knobby Knobrot of 21 Acasia Ave and you then apply to open an account as Knobby Knobrot 21A Acasia Ave

Think laterally - name is but one small part of the whole experience

there aren't that many David Dickheads on Facebook, and the 13th result on Google is actually me (a mix i did a while ago). it's not a popular surname. as for address, it's in the same City, but several miles away.

There aren't many Knobby Knobrots or Felicity Drenchgussets either :lol:

More than enough for a Manual Review** to decide you are the same person....

Manual Review** is an astute human being a live person. Despite working for paypal/ebay they possess street smarts.

its possible they could catch up with you or you catch yourself out but it hasn't happened to me yet.

Hmm. My first name (take a wild guess) is fairly uncommon and there aren't too many with my last name in the UK... a Google search only comes up with my details on 192.com. You would probably have much better luck finding someone with my exact conbination in Ireland rather than UK as it's an Irish last name but I take it that you meant within the same country that the account is made?

I may be playing with fire here but every account that I have made in the last three days, has been located at the same "home" address but with wildly different information other than that. It's an experiment but I don't think that it will be a problem as long as I don't draw attention to myself.

Yes - but as I said, name is only one part of the equation and should never be a deal breaker - provided evrything else, DOB etc, is different then it isn't a problem

well, i was thinking about using my middle name, as i've never registered that particular detail with either PP or EB. but if i did that, i'd still have to use my proper name to register the visa debit card. ID-wise, it's easy for me to provide them with the documents. LOL, i just want to be myself!

Every time I move house I create a couple of genuine accounts in full details, some are going strong some are gone

I think I'm gonna try one with my genuine name, but everything else different. If it doesn't work, i'll only lose a bank account.

they survive continuously

BUT a manual review is a different beast

sounds ok, there are the benefits to doing this, as you mentioned....

Not advisable without some due care and attention.
