New eBay stealth account raise seller limits ?!
 

Hi All,

Created a new stealth account , went to list a few items and saw I had a limit of 10 items / month or £645 or something, whatever came first.

There was a button that said raise seller limits. I clicked it. It then said we will send a letter to this address to verify you then enter the pin code we send you... The stealth address I have used I have no access to what so ever. Am I screwed here or is there another way to raise limits ?

See the thread in this same "uk ebay and paypal" area of the forum I posted in title "raising limits via letter". Whatever name and address you have used, take it as read that the person at that address HAS received a letter, and from my experience happens fast (within 3 days) of clicking to request it. I'm not sure if/what problems this will/has caused for you.

If you were to try to raise them again, ebay would offer to send another letter to the address- a bit like a second chance, they assume you were either away/it got lost. In terms of raising them in other ways just search "raise selling limits" in the search box or browse the forums as there are tons of threads on it, but note the first paragraph: as far as I am aware these were done without any letter ever being involved, so now that you've already requested it raised this way, it might throw up some problems to go about raising them in other ways.

If no access to address, you would have to chat with an agent...has potential problems especially if your account is too new.

Definitely an interesting one, especially as the raising of limits via letter seems relatively new- I'd be really interested to know the outcome of this one- how to raise limits another way once letter has already been sent and ignored.

They send a physical LETTER with a pin now!?

Not in all cases. A proportion of requests to raise limits are dealt with this way. No one knows what triggers it as it seems to be done completely at random.

i have been sent one for second account i have created in the same name and address as a PS/TRS account.

I have had the letter a couple of weeks, i was not going to bother adding the pin and see if i can lift them another way but wanted a wait a little more time, if i find anything out i will pass it on.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I didn't actually click the request letter button as knew I had no access to address.

How can I go about raising limits ? I have searched but found no definitive answer...
