halifax regular saver accounts

these accounts work great for PP

however ive realised (after not reading the manual AGAIN)

that you cant withdraw funds for 1 year

lesson learned

Imakemoney 11-08-2012 11:17 AM

You sure?

At least the christmas after this one will be a good one

they_screwed_me_too 11-08-2012 11:26 AM

made a few stealth accounts acouple of weeks ago

added some halifax savers

withdrew £300 today with the intention to transfer to my current account

theres no option to transfer

fixed term of 1 year

im sure if i went into branch i could sort it but thats how it is

Sounds like an ISA to me

they_screwed_me_too 11-08-2012 11:29 AM

my isa works fine for PP

the regular saver is a "higher" interest account

you have to leave the dosh in to get that rate

oh well there will be 306 when i withdraw haha

abcblablabla 11-08-2012 11:40 AM

worst than a paypal account!
at least with paypal is only 6 months you'll have to wait

rsot 11-08-2012 04:26 PM

Ugh fixed terms - I hear that

Ebayorbust 11-08-2012 04:34 PM

Just be careful if using ISAs. There are annual limits on what can go into the account (and therefore withdrawn from paypal).

Imakemoney 11-08-2012 04:48 PM

ISAs have also been known to not like miss-matching names from many banks, or so I've read on here, so best to be avoided if possible :peace:

Has anyone tried the Halifax ISA with a different name, tempted to open one up as opposed to opening another Halifax Esaver, mix things up a bit

Use the Halifax Online Saver as you can transfer any time you like from these.

By HMRC rules you are only allowed one active cash ISA per tax year

Whoah. When you say you "had" what happened? You closed your account?

moneyhustler88 02-04-2013 01:59 PM

Hi this was in 2011/12. And yeah i just got fed up of so many accounts and eventually some of the stealths got limited anyway with 0 funds so i just wrote to halifax and closed them..they did this no problem. Right now I got 1 online ISA and 2 online savers..then just 3 normal current accounts

northernlad 02-09-2013 07:04 AM
