Heres the deal

Yes that fine if you log all ip's and never use the same i.p on two different accounts.

Chaning the mac address give you more control because if you change the mac address between two accounts, the two account will have two totally diffrent i.p pools so no chance of getting the same i.p on the said two accounts.

A little tip if your not too technically minded is to use multiple routers. :thumb:

Thank you Noneother .
You guessed correctly im not in the slightest tech minded .
So multiple routers ordered and i am thinking of marking each one per account just to avoid me forgetting and plugging wrong one in etc.
Shame someone didnt come up with a switchable box to control / switch routers save me getting up every ten minutes ..
But thanks for the tip anyway .. allways appreciated

No problem.

Good idea to mark them per account

Good!

Just what you want.

This is ideal for stealth purposes, ie, a different IP.

Keep a log of IPs especially if you run more than one stealth account.

Thanks GB.
Another silly question if i may.
Would it ever show up as suspect to EB if the account had hundreds of IPs stored for it ?

NoneOther 12-07-2012 04:55 AM

No, not at all.

Quite normal when using dynamic IP

Questions that let you learn are not silly.

Should never be a problem for ebay if there are hundreds of IPs....

I have hundreds of different IPs... all is fine

Good stuff bruceuk - keep track of the IPs is fine - I would not worry about the MAC for eb yet - just keep your IPs different and your accounts separate

bruceuk 12-07-2012 03:12 PM

Ok so heres my current thinking ..

Please bear with me as new to this stealth .

Could one of our more tech minded or indeed mr aspkin himself
come up with some software that logged ips used previously and flagged if you
were about to reuse same number .

Even if you had to input the current ip you were using at that time and it searched previous ips used then flagged an issue.

Reason for me asking this is i have the worst memory ever known to man and my skills at logging info is not much better .

I know the burger has a pinboard feature but it would be so nice to have someone shouting ... dont use this ip

Try searching the forum for excel spreadsheets that will help you with this, some members have made theirs available for download.

Personally I don't log IP's as I use either a dedicated router or mobile broadband dongle for each account and have never had any issues.

IP is not really that big a deal when it comes to linking as in the overall scheme of things there are not enough IP addresses in the whole of the internet to match the number of people connecting to it, hence dynamic IP assignment by ISP.

You can pretty much bet that any IP you use has already been used by someone else on e/b or p/p

bruceuk 12-07-2012 05:23 PM

Thanks.
Im doing the dedicated router plan now.
My main router would switch ips pretty much everytime i on off but sometimes it never .
plus the dedicated router i find easier as i have big red stickers on top so know exactly what account there for and dont use or risk on any other .
I dont trust myself when it comes to logs and charts and the likes ..
It has to scream at me before it registers ...

Another tip for you.

O2 have a very interesting way of assigning IP addresses to routers. They use an indefinite lease length which has distinct advantages for using with stealth accounts. :thumb:
