Clever stealth address or not?

ive been thinking what if i add an a to the end of my real address so lets say

210 london road
London L78 6rt

210a london road
London L78 6rt

will this work has anyone tried it? or will i just the linked
and maybe get the road name wrong and have same postcode so its not obvious

mcmx 12-07-2012 02:28 PM

'a' is the only difference?

thuvarakan2 12-07-2012 03:23 PM

and also mix the road name up a bit
your thoughts?

webguy 12-07-2012 03:33 PM

I'm sure he is doing this so he can still receive goods at his real address (without linking it to a banned address or course) so mixing up the road name would defeat the purpose if that's the case. By just adding an "a" at the end of the numbers, I'm sure packages would still be delivered to the correct address.

As far as getting away with not being linked, Id say it would probably work, "but" if they looked into your account for some reason, they would probably catch it.

If you want an address that you can still have access to, the best thing is to use a friend or family members address. Just make sure their address isn't already being used in a current account or a banned account.

Proven a failing method especially for the UK. Bear in mind the chance of manual review. Such a variation would flop.

How about telling us why & we can suggest alternatives?

Just use a mailbox service and get a new address altogether that you can be sure will receive your packages.

club1010 12-07-2012 10:44 PM

How about just varying your name, like changing some letters on your first name and last name and let your address be exactly as it was so you can get your packages. Ebay knows that anyone can move to any address at any time, so I can move to your address and have an ebay account also. Ebay will not ban or restrict you based on your address only, your IP address and the computer user name you used on the restricted account MUST be changed, so no more old IP and no more old user name because ebay already have those stored on the computer database.

So what am saying is:

(1) Change some letters in your first name and last name
(2) Change your computer user account to new one and delete the old one
(3) Use a new user account that corresponds with the name on your new ebay account
(4) If you are using a phone to sign in to the old account, uninstall the app used with the old ebay account and reinstall a new one before you login to your newly created ebay account.

GreenBean am I right on this? this has worked for me several times with no problem at all.

In case of changing the name and if he wasn't home when the item was delivered, he will be need to go to post office to collect the parcel and they ask for ID there. If the name won't match he might be not able to collect the parcel.

You can go to royal mail postcode checker and get another postcode suited for your street as i have done

gdsco 05-21-2013 09:02 AM

Is it to increase limit from 10 to 100, is that the reason you are asking. As I have used different ways for the same address for a few of my accounts, as to increase my limit to 100 at the start.

So you slightly changed address and names? Hows the account going then?

gdsco 05-21-2013 09:32 AM

Seem to be OK at the moment, how are you finding the post code method? Seem a bit more risky

Hawwy 05-21-2013 10:04 AM

Postcode and address slightly

oompaloompa 05-22-2013 05:21 AM

NO, do not mess with the road part, makes no difference, and looks weird.

the 'a' is ok actually, plus you can receive goods that way...wouldnt say it was the very best way but..

GreenBean 05-22-2013 05:51 AM

Fails on a manual review every time.

Too risky.

Fails on manual review because PP goes for public lists in the UK - I like the option of mailbox.

The address variation will work for receiving goods as oompa stated.

Hi guys..

With the mailbox virtual address method... especially from services like Office Space, Virtual Offices & Serviced Offices to Rent - Regus UK

I am curious, what if somebody has used a service like this for Paypal and they had been banned using there virtual address.

They only slightly differ for instance... suite 123.. the rest is the same, to me it just looks like address variation if that is the case.

What do you guys think? anyone had any trouble using mailbox/virtual? Cause for concern or not?

EDIT- Just checked with Regus and they give all users the same address.. serious cause for concern if you ask me.

have bought the stealth guide. Sorting bank accounts got phone numbers lined up. How do I get addresses for when ebay send the the letter with the verification number. I have no mates .............Hang on I will rephrase that I have no mates/family who will let me use their address they all think it is something dodgy. As above poster said are all these virtual address [providers giving same address with different suite number I could do that with my own address. Basically wanting some addreses northern england to corresponde with IP addresses. Not too expensive as I presume that would be the only thing sent by ebay.
Any ideas anybody.

i wouldn't worry about the IP address matching your area. My phone's IP used to say I was in Germany when I was in Derby and nothing ever came of it. You should be concentrating on what you're going to do in regards to returns. I've never had a letter from eBay regarding verification.

bramblewill 05-30-2013 12:52 PM

Normally when you open an ebay account you get sent a number by post to verify your account??
I don`t normally get returns and they are not of big value basically it would be I will refund you keep the item.
