| | | stevebills | 12-10-2012 06:29 PM | just starting to run a stealth account I have a ipad 3 and can put a vodafone data Sim in it to run this account and is this a good way to do this for my stealth account or is there an easier way?:hail: |
| NoneOther | 12-10-2012 06:37 PM | Fine as long as you only access e/b and p/p through Safari, do NOT use their apps at any time.
Of course you still need to observe stealth rules re IP and cookies etc.
TBH best avoided, too many chances for error |

| NoneOther | 12-10-2012 06:56 PM | Separate user accounts, attention to detail and a disciplined routine. |

| GreenBean | 12-10-2012 07:20 PM | Is this for the ipad or for your other system?
Since you are asking for good practices, what are your current plans?
How many accounts?
Have you an excel sheet made already?
Do you make a habit of running IP Burger - Track Your IP Address! B4 touching any account to check IPs?
These are the parts of good stealth practices.
Will you give up drinking alcohol & chasing wild women? (Super important this so you never lose concentration) soz, just a little humour

:ranger: | this is my 2nd stealth account
I was thinking about running a data sim on an ipad 3 but Noneother thought that was a bad idea
so now I'm thinking about creating another user on my pc and wanted a different ip from my own and wanted advice as the best way forward and software to use
I also notice some users use a dongle and I presume this uses a data sim same as the ipad3 I have and is this an option?
I can make an excel sheet but what do I store in it?
surely I only want one ip and need to stick to it cos if It changed it to often ebay would think it was dodgy and limit my account
I stopped drinking a month ago and cant be arsed chasing women  |
| sokol3k | 12-11-2012 12:39 PM | I run one account on ipad 3 and other stealth on ipad 1 and I find it amazingly flexible :) I am aiming to be independent with my stealth. and plan to get 10 accounts very soon.
good luck with your 2nd account. |

but a let of peps on here don't go in to detail really.. they just say nar not good mate u no what I mean!:amen: |
| NoneOther | 12-12-2012 06:16 AM | Please re read the above posts.
You were advised that an iPad was fine but not to use e/b and p/p apps, only Safari.
There are many threads as to why this is recommended. |

and I say what chances for error with a data sim and safari? |
Dont use the apps is a common idea to follow. Chances for error with a data sim and safari rest upon YOU...they are safe |

Ip burger is the fastest way to check IP addresses, the best practice is before logging into different accounts is to change your IP, so checking IP Burger for IP change is the best practice. |
| stevebills | 12-28-2012 07:51 AM | I presume its best to keep the same ip for stealth accounts and no need to change it all the time and living in the UK u need a UK ip not USA as this would get u limited |

Having the same IP address across many accounts will create linkage and most likely Ebay will shutdown those accounts. |

| JomJarr | 12-28-2012 03:22 PM | But can you really run MULTIPLE stealth accounts on an iPad?
I'd have thought that every time you switch from one stealth to the other, you then need to delete all cookies between one switch to the next.
Surely eB/PP don't like that and then ask you to leap through ID hoops as a result? |

Surely eB/PP don't like that and then ask you to leap through ID hoops as a result? | I log into all my accounts on my Iphone...so it should be no problem on an Ipad. |
| JomJarr | 12-28-2012 04:22 PM | What do you do about cookies on your iphone? |
Clear them. I don't know how much you do on your Ipad, but I only log into my accounts on my phone to check listings, read messages, maybe Relist an item, I don't actually list items from my phone. |
| JomJarr | 12-28-2012 05:13 PM | Ok - I don't have an iPad (or iPhone) but if there was a way of running multiple stealth accounts fully from one in my pocket then I'd buy one!
So you're not running mulitple stealth from your iPhone, you're only checking on them using it whilst running (fully controlling, listing etc) from another machine? You still need a laptop with multiple user accounts as normal..
Or do you mean you list via a third party website?
The OP talks as if they are thinking of running their account ONLY from the iPad. That might be fine for one single account as long as they don't mess up like letting a friend EVER use it (and loggin on to their eb acc) but multiple accounts ONLY using one iPad sounds impossible in the longer term.
With multiple iPads... then mulitple accounts, one per iPad, but that's not efficient in terms of having to pay for seperate SIMs and seperate iPads - surely better with one SIM in one dongle and changing and logging IPs and user accounts on one laptop. | | All times are GMT -5.
