Default allowed telephone numbers on ebay

hi all, i have registered a couple of stealth accounts on ebay and paypal, using 0843 numbers linked to my landline - unfortunately, when ebay tries to get me to do the telephone authorisation thing, it wont allow the 0843 numbers and asks for a replacement, obviously i dont want to use my landline or mobile, any one have any thoughts, would an 0870 or 070 personal number work ?

They're free because the charge the caller a higher than normal rate and as the number ranges are well known I would guess e/b and p/p block them as they do the 08 numbers.

BTW Soho is widely used by most of the successful stealthers on this forum and cheaper than BT at £2.00 per month +VAT

It is recommended because it works

soho is the way forward here,
its cheap easy to add more numbers to your account for new stealths and they supply numbers for any corresponding area code,
so no matter what your address on your stealth account is you can get the area code to match and when ebay call you up to verify
you can divert that number to one of your choice for instance your mobile or landline.

Go to a phone box get the number you'll need a friend to help save the phone number and get a friend to press the call me now, answer the call and use your mobile to verify by holding to the mouth piece and pressing the correct number as the phone box dial pad don't give off keypad tone.

i use mobile numbers, ive got a few old mobiles that are unlocked and i just use free PAYG sims - one for each new stealth account. I find that you hardly ever need to use the number anyway apart from verification processes. If you ever need to take a call from ebay or paypal just make sure you pop the right SIM into a phone.

lol! years ago we used to use call box numbers and even the local pubs phone number to verify stealth accounts! Also I'd be using the internet at my local library and phoning my friend at the phone box from my mobile to tell him I was about to click the 'call now' number and that he had to answer the phone and write down the code, then I'd phone him back and get the code to input on the website...! I wouldnt recommend doing this method now though as I think its better to have control over the number and be able to access it when you need to.

This method is sooo played out. eB has a record of most public telephone numbers now anyway. Plus the fact you not knowing if the number has been used before.
