is a new Xp use user account as good as reinstalling windows
 

hi above really is a new user ID as good as wiping the computer as my XP disc is playing up,, if it helps I use a 3 dongle thanks

XP is somewhat dated now as an operating system and to be honest it had and probaly still has nasty security issues when it comes to keeping private data separate across multiple user accounts.

Not true Noneother, I use an advanced version of XP with all the latest updates and I have never had leakage throughout user accounts.

Just because you've never had a leakage problem that you are aware of does not make it untrue. XP has some very nasty habits.

Besides the OP never stated which XP version they are using or whether any or all updates had been applied.

My advice to them in this instance if they are only able to use XP is to wipe the drive, reinstall, fully update any security patches and then create separate user accounts but do not use the same software on each account e.g browsers etc, keep them all different.

use a program called bootit bare metal

you can do a full windows install in about 5 mins

have 200 different windows oparating systems on on hdd

have windows xp, 7 , 8 on same Hdd

using technitium mac address changer and setting a different mac on each system, give you a new range of I.P'S every time you boot your computer
