Help!! Will this mistake link my account

Ok so i was having trouble communcating with a customer on ebay who could nt write very good english so she said can u send your number so i can speak to you so it would easier, i agreed and without thinking like an absolute novice i put own my actual number on the email back to her i which is the one i used your my account which was banned!!

I thought because i was talking to her through gmail that it would not show up on sent messages on actual ebay but iv just checked and its there iv deleted it even thou i know that probley wont help if this will link me..

Any ideas people? will this be enough to link my account would the automated system pick this up or would an agent have to look at this and check manually???

not the end of the world but this is my first stealth account and its building nicely

I don't think so, unless you will have an issue with this buyer, so eBay will check the emails between you and your client.

You should be ok. You say you were talking though gmail, so as long as you did not send her a message with your number on it though eBay itself then you will be fine.

Ah, so you replied to an eBay message though your yahoo account as oppose to emailing their own personal email address. I am not sure if eBay scan messages for phone numbers/email address ect and then add them to a database about the stealth account. Other member may hold more information with regards to that.

no what happened was i got the email through yahoo and i replied thinking that it would not be go through ebay at all but when i double checked the sent messages on ebay it was on there! i replied to the email but it went through ebay im not sure how im still new to this, like someone said above i should of not replied directly to the mail but sent a seperate message to her email...then ebay would not have a chance of seeing it

There is no harm in creating a second stealth if this one does go down. It may well survive though, but only time will tell. If it does let the forum know because if you do not do anything else wrong it may suggest eBay scans messages for phone numbers ect.

stay under the radar

dont give eb ay a reason to check your messages

rsot 05-06-2013 12:13 PM

From what I understand - you replied to her EB message from your yahoo and gave an old used number.

1 time is unlikely to cause issues but knowing how eB keeps info, just do like GTB says - keep under the radar. The chance of being linked automatically are very low but if you get a bad flag and someone looks at your account with some research of your e-mails...you may have issues. Only time will tell.
